If you are not happy I would talk to the nanny. But also why not invite them over for a Christmas drink one evening - means you can interrogate him and find out what he does / done.
I would also ask for a dbs if he wants to be in your house and around you children.

Is the job the same and are her duties the same? When was the last time you gave her a pay rise / bonus? Is your child being effected? Are you willing for he to find Another family? I would ask myself these question before making a decision and if you value your nanny and can afford to pay her then ...

Maybe in this situation but it's very unfair to generalise all nannies+ own child. It's not what the OP was asking advice about. I would say the family I work for choose me so their son had a friend to play with and grow and learn with, which is much more beneficial than anything that I could teach ...

I fully agree that - it's completely unreasonable to potty train when I child is not ready and if she wishes too she should have waited until her holidays. We kept having this and tried all nappies and higher sizes - then bought bigger vests and pjs to stop the squishing !!! Worked a treat
