Re: IFA Recommendation - Financial Planning, Pensions etc

My Mum uses Thomas Tyndall they are based in Westminster, I can't speak highly enough of them as my Dad had his investments tied up in different places over the years. He passed away last year and my Mum was getting really worried about how to deal with the finances, she's has never been great with ...

Re: What car should I buy?

Ronangel genuine question what would you recommend? I keep seeing these Eco Tec cars but only have a 1.0 engines, going to struggle getting up a hill in that with a heavy load surely? I heard the early Ford Focus' were exploding after a certain mileage. I'm hoping things have improved. I wouldn't bu...

Re: How to get elderly parents to accept support in particular a cleaner.

How about suggesting it as a one off to see how they feel, explain that it's not set in stone and that your finding it difficult to manage two houses, childcare, work. I had this with parents, met with resistance more from my Dad but they softened in time. Ask them what they would if the tables were...

Re: URGENT ACTION REQUIRED : The ridiculous Labour 'Private School VAT' scam ...

I think it shows how poor the state school education must be if people are willing to pay £25k - £50k a year to educate their child. Not all state schools of course, but most. Like the NHS, you can pour infinite amounts of money into State Education, and it will still never be close to their privat...

Re: Asked to keep children in hotel room for duration of weeding

Well spotted Chorister😂 my thoughts exactly. What a total bore though not wanting kids there, surely this just adds to the fun and the hilarious/cute/ awwww moments. I find it utterly bizarre, this is such weird attitude to kids, would never happen in other cultures and certainly many in this countr...

Re: Attempted mugging near Finton House

Might be Earnest Bevin uniform, Chestnut Grove wear dark green blazers. But given the first school is round the corner makes it more likely. Worth contacting the head teacher and sharing the video, if it's the EB uniform they will confirm. Probably get more out of the school than the police!!

Re: Dog attack on young children in Battersea Park

They should be on a lead and muzzled at all times, it's the owners fault and they should be penalised, the best way to do this is take the dog away from them, better than any fine.

Re: Cake-maker wanted in or near Tooting area

Joy Cafe near Tooting Bec station, they a made a beautiful red velvet cake for my daughters 18th. An 8 inch cake serving 8-12 cost us £30, I couldn't believe the price, so reasonable.

Re: Therapy dog looking for those in need of positivity

Please consider Garratt Park school in Earlsfield, it's secondary specialist provision for those with mild to moderate learning difficulties. They also have an autism unit, I'm sure they would be happy to have a visit.

Re: Does your son at Emanuel, Ibstock or Graveney play video games?

My son loves video games, mainly Roblox and Roblox Studio where he's actually designing and coding for games. I used to get worried about it but he is autistic and it's his way of calming down after a long day at school. He's Yr9 and spends 4 hours in the week. More at the weekends but I insist he h...

Re: Northcote Road quiet?

Interesting discussion on the changing nature of the Northcote road. I grew up just off the Northcote road in the 70's and it was an eclectic mix of all manner of folks, from teachers, actors, first generation immigrants, nurses, bankers, artists, all sorts really. I'm sure all this changed with the...
