Habitat 'Radius' dining set - seats 6-8

Classically beautiful, solid oak, dining set from Habitat that has recently won a design award and is still on sale and retails at about £1500. Consists of one 150 cm ('small' table on Habitat website) table, 2 benches and 2 chairs. This set is 5 years old and has slight signs of wear but nothing ob...

Re: Please make sure your builders are insured

Hello I saw this story on the news and it gave me the fear!! We are starting on a rear single story extension in a couple of weeks and my task for Monday is to sort out insurance so this is a useful find. My first port of call will be our buildings insurance company to seek their advice as well as t...

New wardrobe doors

We have just moved into a new house and were going to have the fitted wardrobes rebuilt but realised that it's just the doors that we don't like - they are too 'Barbie wardrobe'....

Can anyone recommend someone who could build replacement doors for us at a fairly reasonable cost?

Thanks a lot.

Re: recommendations for fun pub lunch with kids

The Gorringe Park (near Tooting overground) has a cinema downstairs and they have kids movies on on Sundays (unless pre booked for a party so phone to check).

Lovely food as well :-)

Re: man for odd jobs / bathroom work needed

We use someone called Geoff Schimmel (Furzedown based) who we met when he was working on our loft with a building team. He now works independently and will put his hand to anything - he's a plumber and electrician which is great when you have a leaky tap and light to fit :-) As well as our loft he's...

Re: Taking the kids on holiday before the end of term?

MGMidget, how can you possibly say that I am wrong to take my 4 year old out of school for 1.5 days so she can spend 7 days with her Kiwi cousins this year instead of 4? I am fully supportive of her education but also believe she should grow up placing value on family relationships as well. My frien...

Peaches

Not sure if its right to post here but no one at work has kids and I just can't stop thinking about her. Her poor babies, her dad, her sisters and husband. The most tragic thing in the world to happen. I'm not sure why I feel like this as I didn't really have much opinion of her except that she seem...

Re: Taking the kids on holiday before the end of term?

On Friday we received a letter from our head mistress giving us permission to miss the last two days of the summer term for our trip to meet family in Koh Samui. I've since found out that she isn't fully in favour of the new legislation and is lenient in 'deserving' cases. Now for a week next Christ...

Re: Would you fly with a 3 mos old?

We travelled to New Zealand last year when my son was 3 months old and it was a lot better than with my daughter when she was 9 months old. He slept reasonably well and I was breastfeeding so didn't need to take anything other than clothes, wipes and nappies. Make sure you pre book a bassinet (the y...

Re: 'Fitted' ikea pax wardrobe?

Stalking this thread as this is what we are planning to do and need recommendations.

I've got a friend who did this and said it looks great but she is in North London.
