Re: Bike shop for children to try different bikes?

Another vote for Everyone Bikes. They were wonderful with both my 5 and 7 year olds when we went in to test & try as well as offering great advice on helmets and helping to fit the kids to ensure we had the proper fit! Really great folks!!

Re: New Mom to area

Hello! Welcome to London. :) There's a pretty good group of Expats here to help you get settled. There's a Facebook group called American Parents in SW11 that may also be a place to find answers for the seemingly endless questions that come with settling into a new country! Glad you're here - London...

Re: Wandsworth Sash windows, avoid is an understatement

And one more positive experience with Frank and Artisan. Frank was even over the top careful to make sure that all tools and anything that might remotely interest my kids was put away under lock & key at the end of each day. It was those little touches that were appreciated just as much as the p...

Re: do children under 10 have to pay on Overground in NV?

This is great information. I too was recently stopped at Clapham Junction. My son JUST turned 6, but he's incredibly tall. No one has ever questioned us until a couple weeks ago. We aren't regular overground users however...

It looks like I will be applying for the same ZIP Oyster!

Re: Mouse Hole/house - recent experiences?

I have friends at Mouse Hole and Mouse House and they are quite happy. However, I'd like to second the positive comments though about Parkgate Nursery. My daughter was also N2 and continued into Reception. She is already sounding out words, can write her entire alphabet, and by all means appears to ...

Re: Parkgate House Uniform for sale

I'd be interested in the art smock. My daughter's current one is a size 20 - oops! I can send you a PM with my contact info if it's still available.

Thanks!

Re: Second hand karate kit

I don't have one to sell, but I've just ordered from this company: http://www.martialartsone.co.uk/?zenid=i0tp823kv8ptmihq9j9g5s0s53 Several school moms I know have also ordered from them as well. They are quite pleasant to work with. They contacted me immediately after I submit my order to let me k...

Re: Delaying Reception for Summer Borns

We ultimately decided to go private for our eldest and enter him in Reception. He is a mere 5 weeks older than 3 kids in his current class - and a full year older than one little one. For us, it was the right decision. I realize that kids will eventually catch up - but is it really worth suffering f...

LOST - Pink Fitbit Bracelet

This is a longshot - I think I lost my pink fitbit while walking from Clapham South Tube (bus stop actually) to home. I was dealing with jackets and umbrellas and toddlers! I walked along Nightingale Lane, Clapham Common West Side and then up Walsingham/Roseneath. If you happen to find it, I'd be gr...

Re: Parkgate House

We arrived very late in the game this year... our state school options didn't thrill us and by chance, we were given options at both Dolphin and Parkgate. I'll echo what everyone else has said -- so much depends on your child and your gut feel for the place. We ultimately chose Parkgate - and my chi...
