Re: Anyone else annoyed at the excessive 'settling in' period for reception in primary school penalising the least well

I don't think any state primary school aims to please people based on how 'privaliged' people are.... A child starting school is one of the biggest stages of their life so far, - trust the school and what they need to happen to get things to work. A school is there to give a foundation and education...

Re: Nursery and childminder in Earlsfield

p.s - in our experience of looking in Earlsfield..it's hard to find one that will tick all your boxes so be prepared to compromise somewhere in your list of requirements!!

Re: Nursery and childminder in Earlsfield

We have recently looked at them all and ended up at Sticky Fingers which we are pretty happy with ( only takes from 18 months). SF is a busy happy environment for the children. It is a huge leap from a childminders (for the children and the parents!!) , but at 2 my child was ready for the move into ...

Re: Wow! Restaurant has a BAN on babies and children!!!

IThere are plenty of places for everyone to go to suit their own personal tastes. I for one as a parent am very appreciative that there are family friendly establishments that are relaxing as a parent to go to knowing your children aren't going to get tutted at but also understand there are plenty o...

Re: Wow! Restaurant has a BAN on babies and children!!!

I think restaurants should have the liberty to decide what their children/baby policy is. There are plenty of restaurants that are accommodating but people without children/or parents on a child free date also appreciate a child free atmosphere sometimes as well. The beauty of living in a big city i...

Re: Gazumping - can I live with myself

I'm not surprised you feel "v v v Bad" it's a terrible thing to do! I think the emotional stress of trying to get to exchange (especially in a chain) is far worse than the financial outlay they will have lost. The house buying process is poor here so we have to rely on gentlemans agreement...

Re: Man in playground with a laptop

Totally agree with Zaarin and Kcai...it is so true that people are too scared to help little children now...it's ridiculous.

The biggest danger to the little ones in playgrounds now is injurying themselves while their parents are on their phones and not looking ;)

Re: Man in playground with a laptop

This forum turns into an even worse than normal edition of the Daily Mail by the day!! Try and work on the assumption that 99.9% of the people in this world are GOOD PEOPLE and stop publicly flogging them!

Re: Does anyone know where I can donate...

These guys would probably appreciate or tell you somewhere local that would, I think they have branches in wandsworth town and Lambeth locally. I know someone that has had their help in the past outside of London and it was amazing support for them ......http://www.home-start.org.uk
