good, reliable decorator who would take on a small job?

Does anyone have a recc for a decorator who would do a small job, decorating a child's bedroom?

We are in SW19.

Might well need more doing int he house in a few months time but for now it's just one bedroom, and we need it done reasonably soon too...

Happy to pay well for someone good!! :)

Re: Titchy at Dean City Farm

I want to 2nd this!!! The class is fantastic - we've been to Monkey Music and Sing and Sign and this is just as good and less pricey. Also it has a different slant than baby music classes as it's less just random singing and more about actions/songs/ideas and games based around a little theme. Reall...

Any good home spa recommendations, hen night pamper party?

Just that, really!
In charge of organising a hen do and hoping for a nice civilised pedicure/manicure evening at home with 5 or 6 others and a glass of bubbly!
Anyone know anyone good?

looking for upholsterer/cushion-maker for small job

Can anyone recommend someone who might be able to do a very small job making a single seat pad? It's to go on top of a toy box and I just need a foam pad to be covered with a cover made from material I've chosen. A very small job but if anyone knows of someone who does this kind of thing I'd appreci...

Anyone Old Merton Park/Wimbledon Chase thinking of selling?

We are (very) actively looking for a 3-4 bedroom house in these areas and are getting mightily tired of being at the mercy of estate agents! If anyone is in these areas and thinking of selling (without paying expensive agency fees) do get back to me! We are half-cash buyers with a mortgage for the r...

Re: Terrible lower back pain :(

Try Mia Robbins, massage therapist at balance bodyworks. She is amazing, nothing like a regular massage therapist - she studied in Australia and has worked with physios and knows anatomy inside out etc. She has worked wonders on my awful neck/back and also really helped a friend of mine who has lowe...

Southfields... nice place to live?

We are starting to look in Southfields... I think we will have to drastically stretch our budget to afford to buy but will do it if we find the right place (though am assuming family houses are in short supply there at the moment, as everywhere else in SW London...?) Is the 'triangle' the best/main ...

area around Twickenham station - nice enough to live in?

We are not from the area but starting to try to look for a house. Have seen something on Grimwood Road and before I make the long journey over there with a screaming baby (!) I just wondered if anyone could tell me if the road/that area is quite nice? Not expecting palatial gold-lined pavements or a...

Re: Anyone bought/sold house after private approach?

Thanks Mum2Monkey - that's really helpful!
Yes I agree that being realistic is important... I would worry about things falling through, especially as we are currently renting and so nee to be sure that we wont have to extend our tenancy at the last miunute...

Re: Anyone bought/sold house after private approach?

thanks for post!! I don't really know how people do it... apparently it is not uncommon though. I'd be a bit nervous about handling it all but honestly we are getting so desperate and everything going to sealed bids is horrible so we are just wondering if it's worth a shot. I guess the worst that co...

Anyone bought/sold house after private approach?

ie a note through the door...? We have lost out in so many sealed bids and so are beginning to consider doing this (SW19, the market has gone INSANE) Wouldn't want to freak people out or annoy them!! It wouldn't be a stalker-y 'We have seen YOUR house and want to buy it" but just a general note...
