Re: Latest Ravenestone Ofstead Report

Papinian- could not agree with you more! My sister's two children attend Ravenstone and she has been tearing her hair out over the last week and I can share her thoughts on the matter with you. The report is not a surprise, for quite a while now there has been a sense of complacency within the schoo...

Re: Experiences of Rutherford House

Simply on a general discussion point, I get the funny feeling we are going to read more and more articles such as the one below over the next few months, especially now that another one is opening up in Earlsfield...

Re: Primary Schools off Balham High Road

Yes, still waiting for the Ravenstone Report to be published... On another note, received a letter from WBC this morning asking for 3 different proofs of address for the primary school application process. I am delighted that they are doing this, especially after the comments on another thread re in...

Re: Primary Schools off Balham High Road

A big thank you to all of you who have taken the time to post here, it really has helped us finally make up our minds!

Such a relief!!

Does anyone know how Ravenstone performed on their recent Ofsted assessment, it would be good to know as we are intending to place them as our second choice.

Re: Primary Schools off Balham High Road

Re: Tooting Primary School

Hello Medway, Happy to share on the forum, already had my knuckles wrapped for daring to suggest I wanted to send our little one to Kumon classes!! And yes, I do not wish to re-ignite the whole Rutherford House string (what am I missing here, why has the string you started had over 2800 views in 10 ...

Re: Primary Schools off Balham High Road

Medway, could not agree with you more!

On your second point, we specifically asked about this and were informed that they have programmes now to support those categories you mention and we were shown the resources/room set aside for them.

Re: Primary Schools off Balham High Road

Morning, We met with the deputy head, and we left with a very positive impression. They have only one reception class and they are really focused on improving upon their last very good Ofsted report. Do what we did which was phone and make an appointment to be shown around by the deputy head and as ...

Re: Tooting Primary School

Goodness, I would never post on here without doing my homework! The information I have received regarding those primary schools not being at full capacity and which in previous years had a waiting list (Sellingcourt/Franciscan/Hillbrook/Trinity St Marys) first came from WBC and then from the schools...

Re: Tooting Primary School

HJM, we were told that figure by a member of staff who was there who we approached to specifically ask what the distances were from last years applicants... Good luck with your application, funny how we had the similar experience of Rutherford where we were told by the deputy head that the ratio for...

Re: Tooting Primary School

Hi, from our friends, we have learnt that other parents are extremely pleased to have got a place at the school (they are full), which is probably due to the notion that it may feed into Graveney later on (there maybe some logic behind this as if you read the booklet they gave us, it clearly shows t...

Re: Kumon Classes

Thank you so much everyone for your advice.

We are going to book in for the free assessment and probably give it a go for 1 month.

Re: Tooting Primary School

Hi, we have friends whose child has just started (they are somewhat indifferent at the moment) and we attended the open morning too today to see for ourselves. Must say we left a little underwhelmed, the two reception rooms were very small and we were trying hard to identify who the Teachers were an...
