Re: Bracelet found

Hi Rebecca Thanks for your message. I'd actually rather not send a photo as there a couple of unique identifying features which the owner would be able to describe. If you would like to tweet that a silver bracelet with some interesting attachments found on Wandsworth common by the footbridge that c...

Bracelet found

Just found a silver bracelet by the footbridge on Wandsworth Common - not sure it worth much monetary wise but thought it might be of sentimental value. There are some unusual bits on it so if you can describe it to me I can return it!

Re: Drink driving with a child

Dear Petrolhead, My heart goes out to you - your distress and sense of shame are palpable in your post. Alcohol dependence is a very complex matter - alcohol does have addictive properties but more often than not it is not an addiction to alcohol that needs addressing but the underlying depression/a...

Re: Cleaner - holiday pay?

I believe we should pay our cleaners when we go on holiday - its not as if they can just conjure up some extra hours paid work when we are on holiday. Maybe they could - but if you have an arrangement that you will pay someone to clean your house on Tuesdays every week for 5 hours or whatever then t...

Dentist recommendations?

My brother is in serious need of some dental work - however he's avoided it for so long he's now in a situation where he's dreading going because of how long its been and so there is a vicious circle thing going on. Anyone recommend a good dentist who does implants? He's probably going to need 3 or ...

Re: Hip specialist recommendation?

Do you have insurance? My husband needed a premature hip replacement recently. He was looked after by Justin Cobb who is at King Edward hospital for private and I think works out of Charing Cross for NHS work. He's top of his game at this stuff. Good luck!

Re: Barbados with Kids

Coral Reef - beats Sandy lane in my opinion, and we've stayed at both. St James is the coast to be on where both these are. Also Sandpiper is also owned by the O'Hara's who own Coral Reef - haven't stayed there but have heard only good things, smaller than Coral Reef. Lucky you - its the loveliest p...

Re: CROSS Rail 2 - Top of Honeywell Road Proposal

Its going to be great having such local access to cross rail - and if we want to enjoy the benefits of new infrastructure then there are certain consequences to bear. Lot of Nimby-ism around all this - I live just off Wands Common and so am in a position to have a moan if I want to but I think the p...

Re: Road rage from a local businessman

Dear oh dear. "Burn the witch" they all screamed. The Brew guy lost the plot, thats for sure but are you all honestly saying you've never got seriously angry before? Let he who is without sin etc. As other posts have said we have no context to how this happened - just stand alone footage. ...

Re: Husband wants to go on holiday on his own

Whilst I admit I would feel really pretty alarmed if I was in your shoes I think this is a really complex situation. Initially though I do agree with others who have questioned the length of time he wants to go for and perhaps thats where the bargaining ground could be. I would ask myself the questi...

Re: Child Psychiatrist

You might want to contact the Anna Freud Centre - they are the absolute front-runners in this area. Although they are in North London they should be able to give you some guidance on finding a therapist for your daughter,

Best of luck

Re: CASTING FOR REALITY TV SHOW Desperate housewives of Batt

Gogglebox is unmissable! And I have just had a quick read through some of the previous posts and now realise rather a few people got in before me with the hedge joke

Re: CASTING FOR REALITY TV SHOW Desperate housewives of Batt

I think this is a wind-up. If it were for real there would be information about the production company, what channel etc, and the way its worded sounds suspect. As for the spelling - is a privet school a school with a hedge around it? No way would it be from a yahoo account. My guess is it could be ...

Re: Leaving baby with new cleaner?

Nope, definitely wouldnt do it. Not worth the risk, and what if something happened that was nothing to do with the cleaner when you were out, not really fair to put that responsibility on her. I know its such a joy having a couple of hours when they sleep but I wouldn't feel comfortable.

Re: dealing with another parent whose child is autistic

Oh my goodness - your comments are astonishing. I just had a look at your previous post (you had flagged up at the beginning of your anti-autism post that this was not the first rant) You talk about being an American - which I think could be really good news and helpful in this instance. In the UK t...
