Re: Weekend pedestrianisation of Northcote Road will begin at Easter

I think this should be a permanent change. The road should be pedestrianised on a permanent basis so the vendors can take better advantage of this. Not sure we need the speeding cars and occasional bus during the week!

Re: Streets filled with dog poo

The Wandsworth council website encourages people to use phones to capture photos and videos of offending dog owners and states these people will be pursued and fined.

Re: Parked cars

Wakehurst road is one of the busiest roads as unfortunately I think that the Waze app routes cars from Clapham common, onto Grandison Road then Wakehurst Road as a shortcut. This section of Grandison Road joining the common is definitely not one that I would recommend to any one of my clients to buy...

Re: Crossrail 2 to come via Balham?

I agree, the construction works will be unsightly and painful. However, I take a long term view of the benefits: * Have you tried to get a tube northbound from Balham to get to Bank for 9am? It's common to wait for several to pass before squeezing on! Think back to that poor lady at Clapham South wh...

Re: Crossrail 2 to come via Balham?

No we do not want to sacrifice it to Crossrail for the benefit of more sodding commuters who do not live here Can you explain this point further? Commuters who don't live in Balham who switch to crossrail from either the northern line or southern trains are likely to join via a subterranean tunnel....

Re: Crossrail 2 to come via Balham?

It's actually likely to raise house prices is Balham. The strongest regional recent growth in London has been triggered by Crossrail 1.

If you want to know who has ruined house prices look to George Osborne and his tampering with Stamp Duty Land Tax.

Re: Crossrail 2 to come via Balham?

I believe Tooting has been considered unviable by TFL due to the geological challenges and cost, I would advise we don't fight Balham as a suitable replacement for fear this too will be scrapped leaving us with nothing.

Re: Crossrail 2 to come via Balham?

The consultation PDF doesn't say anywhere that Waitrose will need to close. There is a planned access shaft located close to Waitrose but the station is adjacent to the existing tube station. From looking at the plans I'd say that car parking at Waitrose could be disrupted but no more. With Tooting ...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Flight Centre is a terrible shop for Northcote, why would anyone not buy flights online these days?
I encourage everyone to give it a wide berth so they vacate the slot swiftly and offer it up to a worthwhile store.

Re: Beggars on St John's Road - feels like Groundhog Day

AbbevilleMummy, you have no right to try and make the poster of this thread (NVHusband) feel guilty. Like it or not street begging and homelessness is undesirable and nobody want's it on their doorstep. Should you wish to share your wealth that is your prerogative, but it doesn't give you the right ...

Re: Have your say on aircraft noise in Wandsworth

I would also encourage residents to email their concerns about Heathrow expansion to the commission at the email address above. As a Battersea resident I find the intrusive noise from Heathrow a blight on my daily life. I have modern double glazing but I am still woken by planes flying over several ...

Re: Streatham move

There's even a craft beer shop opening within the next two weeks. Hey Boonkoh, where's the craft beer place going to be? At the end of Hildreth Street, across from Milk. The shop is currently being fitted out, and will be called We Brought Beer. Not sure if they have a website, but they have a twit...
