Re: Thoughts on Bolingbroke's first results?

My daughter did her GCSEs at Bolingbroke and her results were fantastic, better than she expected. She worked extremely hard and it paid off. The teachers were very dedicated and put a lot of effort into giving students extra support including sessions outside school hours. I am very happy that we c...

Re: Burglars using front door stickers to identify easy targets

We had a sticker too. It was put on our door lock on Friday afternoon between 12-5pm. There were 3 of us in the house at the time so they are clearly putting these on all houses. Our house is very secure. I wouldn't worry too much. Just a good reminder to keep looking out for each other and be a bit...

Re: How much should I pay an au pair

We pay our au pair £80 week + cover her mobile phone costs. We have had au pairs for around 9 years now and they have told us this is about the going rate. My kids are in secondary school now so the job is not very hard. They work no more than 25 hours a week, and babysit once in a while. All of our...

Re: Road rage from a local businessman

This is the London I want to live in:

'When 100 people lift a bus'

Jason Wells' abusive behaviour was appalling. No more Brew coffee for me.

Re: Road rage from a local businessman

I was shocked by this guy's behaviour. Totally uncalled for. Will be boycotting Brew. This is one nasty character.

Re: Recommendation for sash window renovation / replacement?

I can highly recommend MTM Herman. We've just had 12 sash windows replaced and they have done a great job. Mirek and his team take great pride in their work and craftsmanship. The windows are made locally in Tooting which we really liked. We visited the workshop before we made our decision and could...

Sash window replace

We need to replace our sash windows and would really value any recommendations of a builder or company who could do this at a reasonable price. Many thanks!

Re: Au Pair Food Allowance - How much?

We have never given a special food allowance. But i am happy to buy a particular food if they want it. We keep a grocery list in the kitchen and they can just add anything to this and I will get it on the weekly shop. We also keep a pot of around £10 handy for anything that might need to be picked up.

Re: Chivalry Road Playground / Bolingbroke Academy

As a parent of a 13 year old child at Bolingbroke I can assure you that the school takes the behaviour of its students both inside and outside of school very seriously. The vast majority of kids at Bolingbroke are polite and well mannered but there will always be a few who will misbehave at any scho...

Re: Smashed iphone screen-repair in SW11?

I, too, can recommend ifix centre, 86 Battersea Rise,SW11 1EJ tel: 0207 228 1888. DO NOT use the kiosk opposite Clapham Junction station. My daughter used them and they replaced her broken screen with a cheap alternative that didn't fit properly and caused her iPod to self type. We had no idea the s...

Re: Live-in au-pair - how much?

We pay £80 a week and our au pairs tell us that this is considered a fair amount. The job is pretty easy now as our 2 girls are 10 and 13 and don't require a lot of work. We have found many of our au pairs on aupair-world.co.uk which has low cost to sign up and plenty of applicants.

Re: Bolingbroke Academy - latest thoughts?

I have a daughter who is in year 8. I have been very impressed by the school, in particular the quality of teaching and sense of purpose. The school demands high standards of the students academically. It is relatively strict in making sure students arrive on time, do their homework, and behave appr...
