you could try the Big Bed Compamy in gerrards cross. they do all sorts of bespoke (and off the shelf) accessories for big beds.

Re: How much do you pay your Au Pair?

we pay 110 per week basic for 35 hrs per week. we then gave her the option to clean the house for 5 hrs a week for an extra 35 pounds, and she was very keen to do that. doesn't feel like exploitation!

Re: Movers/Packers

hi katemac - we used cavendish and country when we moved earlier this year and had a great experience with them too. they were very reassuring at what can be quite a stressful time, and reasonable on price too. apart from that, the packing was all very efficient and without incident, and the removal...

Re: Parents to be consulted over plans to change sibling rul

because you might want to move from 200m to 300m away and I don't think you should lose sibling priority for that. 800m seems like a reasonable cut off.

Re: Parents to be consulted over plans to change sibling rul

I think you could say that the current sibling rules continue to apply, unless you move further away from the school than when your first child got in, and that new home is also >800m away. that solves the "gaming" issue, but doesn't penalise those who don't move further away.

Re: Movers & Packers recommendation (URGENT!)

Agreed - Cavendish and Country moved us earlier this year and we were very happy with the whole process. If you are time poor they also do an unpack service which can speed things up at the other end.

Re: Do you tip packers and movers?

On the subject of tipping, I think it is down to personal preference and how you feel the men performed on the day. If they did a great job, exceeding your expectations, and especially if they did anything not specifically contracted for, then I think you should tip. We gave 20 pounds per head for t...
