After-school care at Putney High Junior School...?

We are desperately trying to figure out what to do for after-school / wrap-around care for our little one who starts reception this year at Putney High. The school does not offer anything in terms of after-school / wrap-around care beyond 3:30. What do working families do in this situation? Are ther...

Re: Brandlehow School - Another reception class needed?

Does anyone know whether intake for reception 2016 is going to be 45 or 30? And if it is 45, how does this work logistically? Will there be two classes of 22/23 in two classrooms with one teacher per class? Or would all the children be put into one large classroom? Thanks! (And apologies for hijacki...

What to consider when applying for primary school...?

Parents with older primary-school-aged children - what do you wish you had considered when applying for schools? Anything? We will be applying this year for our little one to start reception in 2016 and I'm conscious that things I'm looking for now in a school may not be so important in 3 years time...

Re: Wd you let yr 2-3 yo go on a coach with a lap-only seatb

I had to make a similar decision recently when making a ski transfer with my small (almost) 3 year. I was not comfortable with the idea of my little one being on a coach for 2+ hours at high speed. Sure the risk of anything happening was likely small, but not one that I wanted to take. I did some re...

Re: Farrow & ball or Dulux Endurance paint?

We have dulux endurance in our house as recommended by our decorator - mellow mocha (which I love but which can look a bit pink/purple in certain lights), malt chocolate (a bit brown for my tastes) and nutmeg white (great in a dark hallway!). The finish is slightly shiny, but you get used to it quit...

Re: Newpark Nursery - Any Good?

Hi Claudia, My daughter has been at Newpark for a couple weeks now - and I am incredibly happy and impressed with the staff. Having had a bad nursery experience when she was little I was very anxious about sending her to another nursery, but she's 2.5 now and needed a bit more structure than she was...

Newpark Nursery - Any Good?

I went to visit Newpark Nursery today and am considering sending my two year old there. But, as the nursery just opened (only open since April) it was hard to get an idea of what it would be like when it eventually reaches capacity. Does anyone send their little ones to Newpark? Or has anyone sent t...

Re: Driving Instructor Recommendations

I just passed my test with help from the amazing Claire Jones and would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a driving instructor. I learned to drive overseas and Claire was extremely patient with my numerous bad habits. She knows this area like the back of her hand and I felt she prepa...

Help! My daughter lost her hearing aid!

Has anyone who went to the play zone at the latcmere leisure centre today seen my daughters hearing aid? It was lost sometime this morning. Her childminder plus several staff members turned the place upside down looking for it. I came to look as well - but no luck. It's a beige ('champagne blonde') ...
