Re: being lobbied very hard to get dog, what is a good first family dog?

I certainly would look at rescue dogs; it has been sad to read in the papers of lots of people buying dogs in lockdown and then now finding they don't have time to look after them properly, so the waiting lists may not be that long at the moment. A friend got the most super family dog from Batterse...

Re: being lobbied very hard to get dog, what is a good first family dog?

Welcoming a pet is a responsibility in itself, welcoming a rescue that could have loved through cruelty and horrors takes even more responsibility in my views and I wasnt sure I could provide that. Good point.  But please bear in mind that rescues can be puppies too and 'rescue'  doesn't automatica...

Re: being lobbied very hard to get dog, what is a good first family dog?

I am sure a few people reading will say that you should get a rescue, However, there is also a long waiting list for these atm and, given the ages of your kids, you would generally be far safer with a puppy which can be a cherished member of your family from the very start of its life? Puppies are ...

Re: Thoughts on Bolingbroke's first results?

The results are particularly impressive given that a.) 50% of the cohort was eligible for free school meals and b.) Bolingbroke is fully comprehensive at KS3 and KS4 (unlike Graveney - against which comparisons are bound to be made - which has a top tier selected via the Wandsworth Test).

Re: Anyone used Balham Glass and Joinery?

I used Balham Glass a few years ago for several jobs. All were tricky from both design and installation perspectives but I was delighted with the finished results which were also comparatively reasonably priced.

natural highlights

Hello everyone, I have naturally dingy light brown hair (not lovely golden light brown that I see on others). I would like it warmed up and lightened but I never really know what to ask for. What is caramel? How dark is honey-blonde? I think I am after some kind of impossible natural looking highlig...

Highlights

Hello everyone, I have naturally dark blonde/light brown hair. But not in a good way. I would like it to be warmed up and lightened but not so much that I have obvious re-growth. I have had so may different types of highlights and I am never quite happy with the results. Perhaps I just don't know wh...

Yes, thank you.
I had no idea they are not bona fide. I am obviously a bit gullible. I will go through Langley House from now on.

Re: Aggressive door to door hawker

Firstly, how absolutely awful for everyone who has been subjected to the behaviour of such an awful person. Very much hope that you've all recovered from the experience. I am hoping that I won't cause offence with a gentle reminder (also to myself) that usually the young men and women on the door-to...

Re: basement extension company recommendations please?

Sorry for the delay. I asked my friends and the issues are unresolved so they don't want me to give details. Sorry - that's really unhelpful.
