Re: Honeywell or Belleville??

I completely agree with your comments about the nastiness of the posts on this website.... I have not really posted anything in over a year. I tried to make a point about schools (given that I probably did not present my point that well!) and got some really aggressive and nasty responses. I have no...

Re: MumsNet: am I a wuss?

Wow I better never ever go on Mumsnet! I was almost reduced to tears by a rather aggressive response I had to a post on this website. In fact this is the first time I have posted since! I guess it's quite easy to get a little carried away on line and also quite easy to misinterpret posts....anyway b...

Re: Broomwood Hall or Eaton the Manor

Yikes readytopop that was a bit of an aggressive response... Sorry if you misunderstood me - of course you should do all the research before choosing a school and of course asking other parents for their opinion is important. But I would stick to the opinions of parents with kids at the actual schoo...

Re: Broomwood Hall or Eaton the Manor

Exactly!! We had a place at Thomas, Broomwood and Eaton House. When we turned down Thomas to stick with Eaton House (we were on the waiting list for Thomas' and got a place a little later on) some friends thought we were mad. But we decided to stick with our original instinct and go for Eaton House ...

Re: Broomwood Hall or Eaton the Manor

Oh no please no more!!! I love this website and find it very useful but I really can't take the endless slagging off matches of the local private schools!!! I find comments like "Broomwood wins Hands down on Eaton House" from someone who doesn't even have experience of either schools just ...

Re: Alleyn's, JAPS, & Dulwich College

Hi there, I had exactly the same thoughts last year ! We visited Alleyn's, JAPS and Dulwich college and really liked all 3 (quite difficult to get into Alleyn's at reception though as they only take 18 kids from memory....). In the end we decided to send our kids to a local school and I think it wor...

Re: Capital Carpets, Northcote Road

Isn't it funny how different experiences can be .... I had the most AWFUL experience with Floors for thoughts on Battersea Rise. It was a while ago and at the time it was run by 2 brothers - one of the probably the rudest person I have even come across. They fitted carpets really badly (with bubbles...

Re: Alice's Bucket List

Oh my god.... have been reading this in the office - very bad plan as I am now crying like a baby and all my (male!) colleagues don't dare to ask me why... Is Mark Owne's little boys still at Finton House ?? Surely someone at Finton House could pass this on to him.......that would be such a good wis...

Re: Bugaboo or Maclaren?

I am also a Maclaren fan! I bought the bugaboo cameleon with my first and it's not easy to push, a nightmare to fold and really bulky in the boot of the car. Mine was on e bay within 6 months!!! I went for a city jogger for everyday and a Maclaren which lived in our car.....
