Re: Contesting a will, father plans to leave everything to grandchildren

That is so sad that your father and brother have had their differences. If I were you, I’d stay out of the will debate and encourage him to spend this sadly final opportunity repairing their relationship. My uncle fell out with my grandfather and had horrible sense of guilt after he died. Being very...

Re: Contesting a will, father plans to leave everything to grandchildren

How lovely of your father to want to look after his grandchildren after he has gone. It will make a huge difference to their futures. I’m sure they will be incredibly grateful. He must love them very much. If this were my father, my initial concern would be looking after him while he is so unwell as...

Re: Swimming Lessons

A friend of ours attended Cindys swim school and thought very highly of them.

Has anyone been to the Claoham Manor Leisure Center lessons? It's only £20 per month so I'm wondering how good it actually is. Similarly the Latchere run beginners lessons for £30 per month.

Re: Anyone know a kind vet locally?

We've always used David Cuff on Abbeville Road and find them really caring and genuinely passionate about their patients. Good luck x

Re: Primary schools in Clapham

I'd also be interested in other parents views on these schools particularly Wix which has just received another disappointing Ofsted of inadequate. However, there's now hopefully a chance of it becoming part of Belleville, the early years provision was rated good and I've never heard any bad feedbac...

Re: Park being replaced with a block of flats?

I think this site is a tricky one. The area is currently unused, over grown and stinks of urine. It's not a very useful space and it would be great to sort it out. My objections are that the proposed flats are totally incongruous with the rest of the area and will look very imposing next to the sing...

Re: Money for "me time"?

SW11er I would completely agree with you. From a husbands perspective it's probably very stressful halving your household income. When I gave up work my husband and I drew up two huge spreadsheets. Geeky I know. They broke down on a monthly and annual basis how we needed to budget. Within this we bo...

Re: Money for "me time"?

I may not be popular for saying this, but this type of thread really demonstrates how superficial and materialist living in NappyValley can be. You request a £750 pm allowance from your husband. I can see why he's questioning it, as are others on this forum. Similarly to another poster, I am a stay ...

Re: excessive noise - Weekender festival clapham common

''When did twenty somethings become so selfish and arogant that think it's acceptable to keep whole neighbourhoods awake?'' I suppose when you are paying £900 per bedroom gives some sense of entitlement. Our 20 something neighbours cited this as an excuse for keeping us and our 2 year old awake unt...

Re: Dogs not on leads

This is an awful incident and I really hope your little girl is making a full recovery. I have also found that the dogs walked in packs by dog walkers are becoming increasingly boisterous and disruptive. There should absolutely be a limit to the number who can be walked at a time. I would also sugge...

Re: excessive noise - Weekender festival clapham common

Personally I think it's totally ridiculous that a festival of this type is held in a residential area. I can't think of any other of its type which is held so close to people's houses. I would be in favour of a petition to ban it or at a minimum reduce the sound level and have it stop at 10pm. As ot...

OCD Cleaner Required

Hello I'm looking for a really fab cleaner, one who cleans like your mum and wouldn't feel out of place on the show Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners (perhaps not that extreme!). I need someone who can come each week on ideally a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning for 3 or 4 hours depending ...

Re: Cleaner

Hi Our cleaner is looking for an extra work. She lives in Battersea but may travel to Balham if it's a regular weekly job. Her name is Sao and she's worked for us for almost 10 years. She's extremely reliable and very trustworthy. I know many of her clients and they all very happy with her. Great wi...

Re: Broken Bugaboo Chassis Help!

Thanks so much for the replies.

Ours is broken at the bottom of the handle/ stem where it meets seat. It looks like it's coming apart where the two big silver circles are (sorry, not very technical!).

I'd love to know which bike shop you went to just in case they can fix this problem.
