It's not rubbish. I know three families who did rent short term to get in - they didn't move miles away once in, only a few hundred meters, back to their permanent addresses. It's a reality, I wouldn't do it but I don't blame them - i blame the system and the school who has allowed this to happen fo...

Hi, I'm an Alderbrook parent and the decision regarding the extra reception class was communicated to us last week. I don't know details about the plans regarding space allocation but I wouldn't worry too much. The head teacher and her team are great so I am sure they have a good plan to accommodate...

As always the discussion about primary schools revolves once again around HW and BV and those playing the system. It is a reality and neither council nor the schools involved have done much to discourage families to play the system, until now. I do think the new rules about what classifies as a perm...

Mumboo, glad you liked what you saw during your visit to Alderbrook.
Happy to answer any further questions you might have about the school, although I am still a very new parent and still trying to find our way around homework, after school activities, etc :)

Btw I do understand why parents are bitter about not being able to get into the schools closest to them because it's just happened to us. I think the system is unfair and encourages families to act in a way that I consider morally wrong but until things change let's try and celebrate the success of ...
