Try these guys .... http://www.theusedkitchencompany.com

They have helped us a few times sell our ex display kitchens and they now also seem to sell in situ second hand kitchens as well.

Good luck.

Re: Boiling water tap

We love our Quooker tap. We have had it for 4 years now and are moving house soon and are slightly concerned at the prospect of not having it anymore, though not for long. We just have the hot water and also a filter that gives us filtered cold water through our normal kitchen tap. Not a waste of m...

Hub Kitchens Ex Display SALE .....

Dear Nappy Valley, As some of you may, or may not, know we design and install high end Italian kitchens, wardrobes and fitted furniture from our Battersea showroom. We have decided to completely renovate our showroom this year with some exciting new ranges, but this does mean we now need to sell our...

Re: Granite cleaning service

Dear Erika3,

Removing scratches and marks from natural stones can be tricky, we would always go back to our stone fabricator to get these things sorted.

Perhaps try Marble City in Wandsworth - 0208 871 1191 .... I believe they offer a restoration service.

Best of luck

Re: Waxed Floors Battersea Rise

I also think SW18er's experience is a shame. I think if you spoke directly with Christof he would be horrified to hear that you have had a bad experience in his showroom. Sometimes its important for small businesses and their owners to hear these things direct from the client so they can deal with t...

Re: Kitchen revamp queries

If you can do a lot of the work yourself I think this is a good idea, paying someone else to do it though I would question weather the costs involved are worth the effort over just buying a new kitchen .... as ever depends on your budgets !! Depending on size obviously and ultimately finish, on aver...

Re: Kitchens.....

..... Also - what worktops did you opt for? Are wood a nuisance to maintain? Is a boiling water tap worth it? Thanks Dear sarahjlevans, The worktop you choose is very much dependant on your wants and needs. There are so many on the market now with such a wide variety of pro's and con's it's difficu...

Re: Tiling cost

Steffie,

You are clearly concerned. I would ask to have a meeting with your main contractor, AND the sub contractor, so you can express your concerns.

There maybe a very good reason for the over ordering which needs explaining.

Re: Tiling cost

Steffie,

I tend to agree with Petals sentiments. But as a guide, although not cheap, 40 m2 is not unusually high for a London based tiler. It really does depend on how tricky the job is and the tile material and size .... all have an impact on the cost.

Re: Induction Hobs - any good ?

Balham Mum, Induction hobs are quickly becoming very popular. They are completely different to the old style ceramic electric hobs which most people associate with. They give you almost as much control over the heat as a gas hob and they are super easy to keep clean. Three things to bare in mind are...

Re: Boiler replacement - what system did you put in ?

Hi there, I have just had my conventional system replaced with a combi boiler (3 bed house). I used a company called LMS Gas Services - www.lmsgasservices.co.uk They are a family run business, with Mel and his son carrying out all the work. The job they did for me was absolutely first rate, real car...

Re: Kitchens

Dear Rosie, From a quality point of view there is not much in the above company's you have mentioned. Magnet probably have the widest range and therefore the widest range of prices - I have seen quotes from Magnet that you would not call 'budget' by any means. You should really only be able to buy f...

Re: John Lewis Kitchen?

Dear All, JL supply two types of kitchens as far as I'm aware. I believe their starter kitchens are UK made and of good quality, and their more modern mid/high end range are from Alno who are a large german manufacturer. From a price/product point of view I would say both are a good starting point f...

Re: Which hob type?

A couple of things to consider is that induction is quite a bit more expensive than gas… Do you meant the hardware is more expensive, or the running costs are more expensive? I meant the hardware ….. depending on size and manufacturer of course, your average 4 burner gas hob would be £200-£300 wher...
