Re: Anyone ever sand and seal the pine flooring under the ca

The boards are tongue and groove - do you think that will make a difference to the drafts? Would your husband mind sharing his techniques as that is exactly what we will be doing. :-) We do not have a shed load of money and are struggling to figure out how we are going to get everything done that ab...

Re: Anyone ever sand and seal the pine flooring under the ca

Thanks! It's nice to know that Im not the only 'crazy' one. :-)

Can you post a photo? I'd love to see it.

Can you give me an idea of cost...? Does it compare to putting carpeting in?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone ever sand and seal the pine flooring under the carpet

Hello mums! We've just bought a house and are doing quite a bit of renovations before we move in. The builders have now taken up the carpeting and I think that the under floor or 'subfloor' looks awesome. But... has anyone ever kept these floors? If so... what did you do with them? Thanks in advance.

Buying a house - Norbury VS Thornton Heath

Hello all! We are deep into the house-hunt and am having so much fun. ( 8-) ) But - I am finding such differences in the pricing of some houses and I simply cannot see the differences. For example: There is a house in north Thornton Heath that looks amazing, has been cared for, has attic dormer, con...

Re: RANT: Nanny No-Show for Interview

It was through the ********* site... which I've actually had good success with in the past - just not lately. :-/ But... We found someone! And we adore her. She is the perfect fit for us and the...

RANT: Nanny No-Show for Interview

I have now had 3-4 no-shows for job interviews. WTH!?! Today she tried to make it MY fault! Apparently she texted me and called an hour before our 3pm interview saying that she thought that she was close to me and could she come early. Well... that's quiet time around here and my phone was off and I...

Re: HELP - Sooooo we know that this is the best place to liv

Balham10 - I'd love some more information on Harpenden. I've been reading up on it and it looks lovely. There's not much available on the market right now but hopefully in a few months when we start looking that'll be different. I think that we might need to take a drive to check it out. How far is ...

Re: HELP - Sooooo we know that this is the best place to liv

We are hoping to pay <650k and buy a place that is on a quiet-ish lane, has 3+ bedrooms or 3 and a study, a garden and a garage.

And now y'all see why we can't stay in zone 2. ;-)

Re: HELP - Sooooo we know that this is the best place to liv

Thank you so much everyone. I've started my research into these areas (and the dreaming as well). I'm glad that we have so much time to plan and learn about our next possible location.
But - I'm still going to enjoy every last minute of living here.

I'll still take any other suggestions. Thanks!

HELP - Sooooo we know that this is the best place to live BU

Ok - so I know that this is the best place to live in and around London BUT... We are needing to plan where we are going next. The reality is that we just cannot afford to buy here and we'd really like to buy in 9 or so months. We've only lived in the UK/London for 15 months and lucked into this ama...

Re: Looking to start a new French playgroup/meet up - Clapha

I might not fit in this group but I would love to have my babes connect with other french speaking babes. My husband and I are Canadian, he's the French speaker in the house. He speaks only French with the children (ages 2 and 3). I'd love for them to see that there are others who speak French and i...
