Re: Proposal for five story flats at Jaggard Way (Wandsworth Common)

Just shows the complete disregard of Wandsworth Council right now. They are proposing to demolish the Northcote Road library and Chatham Hall and build similar flats but with NO Parking. Total ridiculousness. Feel so sad about Wandsworth Common station, it is so tranquil and lovely. Wandsworth Counc...

Re: Northcote road library to close?

Please see attached the Council report outlining their proposals: For example..... The redevelopment of Chatham Hall requires the temporary closure of the building whilst the library and new community centre are constructed. This will be an inconvenience to the users of the hall, which include: (a) ...

Re: Northcote road library to close?

Carol2R, the old library is 'fit for purpose' It could easily have a re-fit. It's because the Council want the rents from that piece of land. A coffee machine, a new nappy changing table and new chairs and better computers isn't that hard to fit? Three storeys does not sound high; but when yo...

Re: Northcote road library to close?

The community were in favour of a bookshop within the library, not a tiny new library to make room of all these flats. On the site, the library will be approx 30% worth of the land. The Council haven't commented on anything about a new book shop, which may be a small stand in the new library, but wh...

Re: Please object to this heinous Wandsworth Town development

Yet another development of flats and money to a developer.

I spoke to an elderly retired neighbour who works at that Homebase and they have made them all redundant.

he is gutted.

Save our Library

As a local resident to Chatham Hall, we've had a letter (Jan 2017) from Wandsworth Council (just sent to 37 people at the moment) saying that they want to re-build the library where Chatham Hall is now, and make it a newer library building with improved facilities, and nine apartments above it. They...

Re: Dolphin school parents

I am so glad someone has brought this topic up. It's a nightmare to get past in the morning and I don't want to cross the road as I would need to cross back again soon after Dolphin School to get to our destination and there isn't another crossing for ages. When we visited Santa at Hamptons on the N...
