Re: How do I get a grease stain out of a shirt?

Hi there So sorry to hear this! May I suggest getting one of the Nancy Birtwhistle books (they also have them in our local libraries.) She is amazing for giving advice on so many things, including tough stains, but she uses only environmental ingredients. I have all three of her books (having first ...

Re: Bashed my ex and now my son won't have anything to do with him

I am so sorry to hear about this, and wish all of you the very best. I wonder whether it might be an idea to reach out for some family counselling, and maybe some sessions with your son and you, and your son and his dad with the same counsellor, who can help with the family dynamics and so your son ...

Re: Repeated PCNs from Parkmaven Clapham Junction Car park

Sorry to hear this. You mention the congestion at the other entrance (with the drop off zone) but I wonder if there might be another station closer to your home that you could walk or cycle to (or even cycle to CLJ?) avoiding adding to the daily congestion and risking parking tickets? Good luck with...

Re: Cockapoo or cavapoo

That is so lovely you have got the green light to get a dog. Can I also drop the possibility of a rescue dog into the mix? Rescues are the very best breed - they are always so appreciative of their forever home. Many lockdown designer puppies ended up back at Woodgreen Rescue Centre as a result of n...

Re: Hair for cancer patients

What a lovely thing to do! The Little Princess Trust even accept donations if you cut your own hair (they really need at least 12”) and they have a video telling you how to do it. You just need some elastic bands and clean and dry hair and some sharp scissors. Here is the link: https://www.littlepri...

Re: Mastif in Ole & Steen off lead

I fully agree dog’s should be on leads in cafes - we have always kept our dog on a lead, and it can be upsetting to dogs who are restrained to have other dogs running over and they can’t get away, let alone the risk to small children…

Re: taking early inheritance for schools fees

This sounds as though there are a lot of variables that could go badly wrong. Have you considered looking into state school and spending the money you do have on the “extras” that aren’t always included at state schools, such as music etc. We are so fortunate that our local state schools are excelle...

Re: Chez Bruce - non-family friendly

Congratulations on your little one. Our experience of Chez Bruce has always been excellent and it is where we go for special occasions. When the children were very small, we booked a baby sitter so we could really relax and concentrate on each other and the wonderful food and experience. Now the (gr...

Re: Where to give brand new toys? for age 1-4 years

Hi,
That is really kind of you! I’m sure Contact a Family (for families of children with disabilities) would be interested - they are off Garrett Lane. Otherwise there is the play room at St George’s Hospital on the 5th floor.
