Re: donating teenage clothes, cuddly teddies and toys?

I was going to say exactly the same. Little Village can only take clothes up to age 5, but you could definitely find a good home for them on the Olio app. I recently gave away lots of my 11 year old daughter's old clothes on there and the lady who collected them was so grateful. Little Village would...

Re: Babysitting lodger

We have a very similar arrangement with a lovely girl who is a local teacher. I don’t require any help around the house, just babysitting and she also does tutoring with my daughter to prepare her for the 11+. I don’t charge her any money as the tutoring is worth a lot. It has worked brilliantly for...

Re: Fun different date night, help...

My favourites place for date night with my husband is Counter Culture at the front of The Dairy in Clapham Old Town. The food is incredible. You can watch the chef cooking and best of all it is BYO. Other great places are Unwined in Tooting Market and Plot in Broadway Market. Both really different b...

Re: I'm weight loss resistant! Can anyone recommend a professional to help!?!?!

Have you tried getting your food delivered by a company like Jane Plan or Soulmatefood? I have done both and both really work. Jane Plan is much cheaper but Soulmatefood is much, much nicer (and therefore I am more inclined to stick to it). However when I stick to Jane Plan I got rid of the last of ...

Maths Tutor for a 7 year old

Hi could someone please recommend a very patient maths tutor to help a 7 year old who has decided that she hates maths. She is saying it is pointless and she can't be bothered to try. I have tried everything I can think of doing myself but think we need some independent help

TIA

Re: Husbands affair

Oh no, you poor thing. I don't have any advice but I know that The Awareness Centre on Abbeville Rd offer reduced price (about £15 I think) counselling sessions if you are on a low income. Maybe worth a try. Good luck x

Re: New kitchen / hot tap

We debated getting a Quooker and were persuaded by the kitchen designer. So glad we did as I definitely wouldn't want to be without it now.

The other thing he persuaded me on was an induction hob rather than gas. Again so glad I listened to him as it's amazing

Re: Can anyone recommend an effective book on potty training?

I agree that you shouldn't rush in to it but found the Pirate Pete and Princess Polly books good with my two. Also Liam Does a Poo in the Toilet for my daughter as she refused to poo in the potty for a while even when she was dry

Re: Marmalade Caterpillar V Balham Montessori

My son has just left Marmalade Caterpillar as he is going to school in September. I cannot say enough good things about it. It is a wonderful nursery with caring, experienced staff and fabulous teaching and pastoral care. If you read the latest Ofsted report and I it is a very accurate reflection. M...

Re: marriage counselor needed!

Try Jane Major at the Awareness Centre on Abbeville Road. I have not seen her for marriage issues (I saw her as I was having a difficult time juggling work and 2 kids) but she is brilliant and I know that she does do couples counselling too
