Re: Gutter Clearing

I just used Pow Wash on a recommendation and was impressed by them. Nice and easy to deal with, lovely kiwi guy who did it and cheaper than the other quotes I had.

Re: Physio recommendation

Having visited many Physios over the years and found them to be all a bit pointless, I recently started seeing Caitlin at Four Sides on Northcote road and she has been brilliant. When she was away I saw another one and liked her too plus my sister saw another there, so I think they’re all good! They...

Re: Weight training/lifting for midlife

Four Sides on Northcote road is exactly what you’re looking for! They’re all physios who take the sessions so they can keep an eye on any issues and it’s very female focussed. Highly recommend

Re: Cookery Courses

Hi there,

I have done many courses at Cookery School at Little Portland street in Oxford Circus and their teaching is second to none. They have lots of different ones so you can pick by theme or skill or short classes or longer courses. It’s expensive but good quality!

Re: reformer pilates beginners class recommendation

Four Sides on Northcote road is brilliant as there’s a max of four per class and they’re run by physios so you know you’re not going to injure yourself.

Re: School/Nursery Choices

Someone just mentioned Alphabet nursery school but I’m pretty sure it closed down as it’s where the new library is being built on northcote road. My kids go to Dolphin school and Noah’s Ark nursery is based there too where my son goes. We love both the school and nursery and my kids get really excit...

Re: Taking the children on an extended holiday

You’ll never have such a good chance to go again so definitely do it! It will connect the kids with their roots, be an adventure and honestly, the kids will adapt just fine both there and back here after. Do it!

Re: Down to earth private primaries

My children are at Dolphin, which is brilliantly placed on Northcote road. It’s a small school in a church so has a religious founding which comes through in the ethos of the school but isn’t overtly religious. It’s small, the teachers are caring and passionate and they get good results with the kid...

Re: Northcote House nursery

I would certainly not be concerned at the lack of ofsted report as the nursery has changed beyond recognition in the three years we’ve been there! They’re fully prepared for the ofsted inspection at any moment. Kelly, the last manager actually left to become an ofsted inspector and made some really ...

Re: London Farmers Market = Northcote road??

I’ve always thought the playground at Belleville school would be a great place to have a farmers market and they’d have a water supply and electricity too if needed. Wonder if that’s ever been considered?

Re: 3 year old with stammer

Hi there, My daughter had the same thing at 3 years old, during the lockdown last year. It went on for a couple of months and then settled down. An educational psychologist I spoke to said that it is common at that age because they have so much to say that their brain is working faster than they can...
