Re: Volunteering opportunities during the Summe for 17 yrs old?

My son needed to organise some volunteering for his DofE but after extensive research we discovered that most charities will not take on under 18s for safeguarding reasons. The only ones that do are the Shelter charity shops - there is one on Northcote Road and one on the Pavement in Clapham Old Tow...

Re: Which resorts more likely to have snow?

We ski regularly in La Plagne, Les Arcs and Tignes and have just returned from a not very snowy Christmas there. However, there are heavy snowfalls forecast for this week and apart from the lower slopes (below 1800m) the snow is likely to be fine in early Feb. So do choose a resort where at least so...

Re: Drop off at Newton Prep from Clapham Old Town

We live in Clapham Old Town and I had children at NP for many years. I really wouldn't recommend driving as the traffic is terrible in the morning, it will take longer than walking and there is nowhere nearby to park. Much the best is to all get scooters and whizz down Silverthorne Road.

Re: Bedales, Frensham-Heights, Bedes

My 13 year old son has just started weekly boarding at Bedales. We looked at Bede's and Frensham too and liked both but opted for Bedales as he has grandparents who live nearby and we loved the family atmosphere and the emphasis on a holistic approach based on the school motto of  'head, hand and he...

Re: **Help!** ADHD SON LOOKING FOR SCHOOL

My 12 yr old son was diagnosed with ADHD at the beginning of the year and we had to think long and hard about where he should go next to school (he is currently at an independent prep school where he can stay until 13). We ended up ruling out local day schools such as Dulwich, Whitgift and Emanuel, ...
