Re: Au pair’s food costs

I should clarify - the AP that gets 30 per week has that money for food on weekends/snacks/coffees while out. Mon-Fri all main meals are eaten with family and if she needs/wants supper on the weekend she is welcome to it.

Re: Au pair’s food costs

Whether she sees a shrink, an orthopaedist, goes to zumba, has a personal trainer or nutritionist is irrelevant to this. She can do as she pleases outside of her duties although obviously an au pair with a PT will inevitably rub mums up the wrong way in nappy valley (how dare she) Most young p...

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

Tess - leave out the passive aggressive “it is not my belief you’re not from the US” blah blah You are openly putting in doubt by the things you have said so please do not back track on that. In the US we say what we mean - we don’t question someone then deny it then do it again which you have done....

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

When I wrote on this I knew I would get that reaction from a few as I had stated. What has where I am from, how long I have lived here got to do with anything? Well done on the stalking of my previous posts though! Yes I have lived here for a short time but I have been coming to the UK for a long ti...

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

Whether you believe I am from the US, whether you believe I do not know what I am talking about is your own issue  The OP asked for an opinion and I have given it based on what people I know have been through. I wish people would stop saying the school is strict. It isn't. It dishes out detenti...

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

This is exactly what I mean. The OP asked for opinions, of people who go to the school and those who know people who go to the school. You'll find the ones who have had an excellent smooth time at the school with all the schmoozing they do cannot accept or listen to the bad experiences without feeli...

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

Schoolgatesmum; No I would not send my children here.

I have become close with many parents from the school and know many of their issues due to my husband and our friends whose children attend the school, some have left.

Which part of what I have said is malicious gossip?

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

You'll find that the parents of children excelling at the school will jump to their defence because the experience they have of the school is amazing. They're schmoozed. On the other hand, speak to parents who have complained or have been treated unfairly and you will see a very different iron and i...

Re: Two

Nanny - you are welcome, I take my hat off to you. Especially dealing with these spoilt types who would hit the roof if they were to be treated like this by their employers. So tiring to see on here passive aggressive complaints about nannies who have their own kids and need to take them to school s...

Re: childcare offered

A friend is looking for drop off to Thomas Prep in the mornings.

How much do you charge per hour and do you drive?

Re: Views please! Is £15 ph for evening nanny a reasonable rate?

To me childcare is vastly underpaid - people are quick to complain and say how much it costs them but do not give much thought to the amount of work put in along with the huge responsibility, coupled with the fact that the 'help' also have to make a living! My husband and I have always gone with the...

Re: Views please! Is £15 ph for evening nanny a reasonable rate?

I have hired a nanny recently at £15 per hour. To me it is money very well spent and I wouldn't balk at it, considering the amount of work they do and how heavily they are relied on - collecting children, bringing them home, making dinner etc. If you find a nanny you like and her price is higher tha...

S&L Therapist recommendations.

We have recently moved over from NY to the Nappy Valley are and are wondering if anyone can recommend a private Speech and Language therapist for a 7 year old?

We would appreciate any recommendations based on personal experience.
