Bereavement support groups

I lost my long term partner last year.  Now that a little time has gone by I feel I need some bereavement support/counselling.  Ideally I would like to join a face to face support group and have the company of others who are in the same position as me.  I did phone Cruse bereavement support line but...

Veterinary nurses for house visit for cat

Does anyone know any veterinary nurses, either attached to a practice or a freelance, who will do house visits?  My cat came home yesterday after an eye op, has to be confined to one room for a week with a neck collar on all the time which needs to come off for him to eat.  I cannot manage the colla...

Self contained studio loft flat to rent in SW17

Just to say that I have put an ad on Spareroom website for a self contained loft flat at top of my house for single or double occupancy.  It is an equidistant walk or bus ride from Tooting Broadway tube and Earlsfield rail station.  If anyone knows someone who needs local accommodation the Spareroom...

Recommendation sought for occasional daytime help ( general not medical) for elderly gent in Sw17

I seem to be quite active recently with queries and this is my latest one.  My partner, soon to be 85, has not long been home from hospital and is fairly housebound at moment.  He has 2 daily visits from district nurses who deal with his feeding and meds.  He lives in my house and I am here almost a...

Looking for internet help/ “virtual assistant”

Does anyone know of a good “ virtual assistant” who I could pay to give me occasional help with
the internet when required?  I am ok with the basics, e mailing etc, but if I wanted to set up something
like, eg, a regular blog, feel I would need some hand-holding!  Any recommendations welcome.

Recommendation given here for good handyman

I told Peter Agardi, a very good handyman who came round today for the second time, that I would recommend him again on this site. He could do all the tasks that I wanted, is pleasant and punctual and a quick worker.  He is also a carpenter ( made some new shelves inside an existing cupboard for me)...

Re: PROBLEM WITH SLUGS IN KITCHEN

Thanks everyone for replies. You are all right of course, the problem is down to dampness. Wonderful Peter the handyman ( who I got from NappyValley, thanks for the rec) is here today.  He took off the damp stained back of a kitchen unit to reveal an even worse bit of kitchen wall behind, plus … the...

PROBLEM WITH SLUGS IN KITCHEN

Anyone had this problem and either know a DIY solution or used a pest control company who fixed the  problem? For the last few months we have had slugs appear on the  kitchen floor for no apparent reason.  They only come out at night although occasionally we do see them in the daytime, both big ones...

LIVE IN COMPANION/CARER RECOMMENDATION NEEDED FOR OCCASIONAL VISITS

My soon to be 84 year old partner recently came home from St George's where he was on a ventilator for two days with post Covid complications.  He is much better now but still understandably nervous about what happened and doesn't really like being on his own too much.  He is mainly in the house but...

OCCASIONAL IT/COMPUTER HELP NEEDED (For Homes and Gardens section)

I'm looking for some occasional IT help on an ad hoc basis, someone I could maybe pay for by the hour - that sort of thing.  This would be just for personal, non business related things, e.g. I want to start a blogpost on a general site but don't know how to go about it.  I'm OK with the computer ba...
