Re: Southfields mum - Opinions on The Roche School please!

Loads of Southfields parents, very active community, almost like a private state school in its facilities and not at all posh but really supportive of SEN and very happy to take children who aren't academic, unlike most other private schools seem to be. Seems to turn out very confident girls.

Excellent state schools in Richmond and Putney but that's from the experience of girls; not sure about boys but can't imagine it would not be the same. Most people can't afford the fees here these days.

For a very sporty and academic 8 year old boy, if you are going to pay, I would seek a selective, academic school with facilities, such as Newton Prep. or a normal Prep., such as Eaton House or Northwood Lodge. Broomwood would be great for an arty, creative child, as would any traditional independen...

Prospect House is a fantastic Prep. in that area but you could possibly get into Brandlehowe from there, an Outstanding and and ambitious state school. Of course there is also Hurlingham and a bit further away are Newton Prep. and Merlin, which are both really excellent independent schools. Wandswor...
