Re: Fibre broadband (aka FTTP)

I’d also add that G Network were spending something like £100m rolling out fttp across Battersea / lavender hill area . As I say openreach probably see no reason to overbuild and use limited capital to do so . They will be desert pockets of not passed homes as fttp is rolled out, I’d guess at some p...

Re: Fibre broadband (aka FTTP)

There’s community fibre fttp 1gbps been rollout across most of btc - broomwood road across to Battersea rise it’s been in the ground a year now . Do remember there is already competition in the ground with Virgin media cable . Maybe community fibre have secured the permitting rights and BT openreach...

Re: Heatpumps in London?

Just to follow up .. don’t be a d#ck and get a log burner . It’s anti-social for your road and neighbours . You can burn smokeless wood legally in london so long as it’s installed by professional installers it’s fine.. ..but it still stinks the entire road out when we have low or no winds . Some d#c...

Re: Heatpumps in London?

Agreed .. stick with gas… it works and efficient. I pay £150-200 a month for gas & elec in a 5 bed renovated Victorian house . Install a good system boiler , good pressurised water tank, a nest thermostat, double glazing and obviously good insulation where possible. But a Victorian house , is 14...

Re: How much will my husband need to earn when we return from overseas.

How long is a piece of string …….. a lot of variables in that question …….Private school for 2 kids , you will need to earn £100k gross (£25k net x 2 @45% tax) just to pay the school fees . 3 bed House start at £1.3m+ and 4-5 bed at £1.8m+ -£3-9k mortgage per month depending on deposit size, borrowi...

Re: The Moped crash scam - has your Car been crashed into yet ?

Happening loads. 3 of them in 1 day on the same stretch of road. Same MO, they target old people & mothers as they exit a junction . They sit near a junction and then just ram into you or they drive around looking for people. Deliberately ramming their scooter into you , causing damage and causi...

Re: Rough sleepers hub and hostel opposite Battersea Arts Centre, Lavender Hill

There is a nursery literally next door to this proposed facility . Putting these two vulnerable groups next to each other is a huge safeguarding issue. The fact the officials have glossed over this issue is of huge concern to people objecting. The site is simply unsuitable purely on this basis alone...

Re: Selling House - Estate Agent Fees

Ask for 1% on sale price , with a ratchet mechanism that if they sell for less than asking price then commission rate is cut but if they sell above asking then commission goes up to reward . You can band commission by sale price , ie every extra £100k over asking price the commission rises 25/50 bps...

Re: Did you mind if you didn't receive a gift for giving birth?

The response from Brokebird is rude / ridiculous. Clearly a joke response . #Ignore : # jealousy Bought my wife a “push present “ 1st time round a diamond and sapphire ring , and best decision we made . Had it personalised and hand made by a guy in Hatton garden ( not massively expensive as uncertif...
