Hi there.

Speak to Duncan Quirk - duncan@educationadvisers.co.uk.  He was hugely helpful to us.

Good luck.

Re: Moscow State Circus

It is fantastic! I took my children on Monday and we all really enjoyed it. Very professional, brilliant "clowns" (non scary!) and very slick. If you go on to the website, you can book the half price tickets without a flyer, but if you want to pick one up they have them in the dry cleaners...

Re: What car should we get?

We looked at several cars when we found ourselves in the same situation as you, and went for a Honda FRV. This is a really clever 6-seater car - it has 3 seats in the front, and 3 in the back. As it is so cleverly laid out, you can fit 3 car seats in the back row without any problems. I personally d...

Re: St Georges

I had all three of my children at St Georges and rate it very highly. It is very reassuring to know that you have such expertise on site should it be needed. I had very different experiences with all three of my births, including one labour spent in the birthing pool (wonderful) and one induction, b...

Re: Cooking Parties

Justine ran a birthday party for my daughter and her best friend earlier this year, and it was a huge success! Justine had everything under control, from agreeing menus (including some complex dietary requirements), to setting up everything on the day, keeping 15 7 year olds happy for 2 hours, and c...

Re: No 1 cake tin??

Hi. You can hire all sorts of cake tins from the Wimbledon Sewing Machine shop on Balham High Road, near to Tooting Bec station. Likely to be cheaper than Northcote Road!

Re: Family car recommendation?

We have a Honda FRV which is the same idea as the Multipla - a 6 seater with room for 3 in the front, 3 in the back. We have been so happy with it - a very cleverly designed car with plenty of room, but still easy to park. Highly recommended!

Re: Friday playgroups

Hi there. There is a wonderful playgroup called Runaround at St Stephens Church, Weir Road, Balham, from 9.30 - 11.30am. There are also playgroups every morning of the week at Balham Baptist Church at the top of Ramsden Road, opposite Waitrose car park.

Hope one of these works for you.

Re: Epidural or not?

Hi Becky, I have had 3 children, and 3 epidurals, so you can imagine which side of the fence I am on with this one! Every birth is different, and pain thresholds are very different too. I guess the real advice here is to go in with an open mind. I didn't want an epidural with my first baby, but 7 or...

Re: What's the catchment area of Balham schools?

I completely agree with the advice given already. Cathles Road isn't in an obvious catchment area (realistically) for any of the really good local schools. You might want to consider as well that Cavendish Road is the border between Wandsworth and Lambeth. Henry Cavendish School is doing well at the...
