Re: Cost of After School Clubs/ HolidayCamps

Hi  Very loosely I would say most holiday clubs around here will be approx £200 - £250 for a five day week. BUT almost none are proper full days, especially not for 3/4 year olds. you will need to be prepared to maybe add in a little ££ for some childcare a couple of afternoons to cover from 2/3pm ...

Re: Cost of After School Clubs/ HolidayCamps

There is wraparound care at Hornsby. My children are there but we don’t use it currently so can’t advise on costs but why don’t you drop the school and email and they will be able to outline the costs for each club per term: www.hornsbyhouse.org.uk/co-curriculum/before-after-school-clubs/ Thanks so...

Cost of After School Clubs/ HolidayCamps

Hi, We have got an offer from Hornsby House for our 3 year old son and before committing to it wanted to work out the entire financial commitment. Would be grateful for any insight on what after school clubs and holiday camps etc cost on top of the exorbitant school fee. Both me and my husband work ...

The birthday is in October- so nothing outdoors- we did a party at Bertie and Boo last year but wanted to do something different this year - anything which required minimal organising but maximum fun for the babies a...

Hi,  We are looking to place an offer on a house on Martindale Road in Balham, we love the house but are slightly unsure of the area, we saw some crime statistics online which showed a few incidents two streets down- anyone has any feedback/ experience of the area? We are a young family and have a s...

Re: Help! Toddler Eczema

My son had terrible eczema from 4 months. We tried many products, specialist paediatrician etc with steroid creams and more, But what ended up working the best for us was diprobase. It may be different for your child. Everyone is different, but diprobase on the body and a small steroid mix on the f...

Re: Help! Toddler Eczema

Just echoing a post above, my daughter also sees Dr Helen Cox for her allergies and eczema and I highly recommend her. I am a huge advocate of the NHS and we have a wonderful NHS GP who handles our everyday medical needs very well, but pediatric allergies and eczema are two things that the GPs just...

Re: Help! Toddler Eczema

You need to find the cause of the eczema, the majority of eczema cases in under 5s are caused by food sensitivities. I recommended you try an elimination diet, where you take out one common food allergy e.g. milk, wheat, peanuts and eliminate for 3/4 weeks and monitor if the eczema improves. Makes ...

Re: Help! Toddler Eczema

We saw Professor Habibi at the New Malden Diagnostic centre who was super helpful. He suggested to only take showers and very quick ones and before going under the water to spread Dermol cream on the entire body which you can then rinse and not use any soap. You can then use afterwards aveeno cream...

Re: Help! Toddler Eczema

Firstly make sure you don’t use any products with SLS (sodium laureate sulfate) in them. This is pretty much an industrial strength cleaner and very drying. I found Salcura products very effective. They’re very gentle with no nasties and smell very nice. Have you tried giving your child probiotic f...

Re: Help! Toddler Eczema

Hi, my child outgrew it by age 4 but I remember how it was and it was heartbreaking sometimes. Fingers crossed yours does as well. I really recommend putting oats in a sock, running a warm bath and allowing the warm water to make a milky oat bath. It's very soothing. Pat skin with a towel. Aveeno h...

Help! Toddler Eczema

Hello, My 2.5 yr toddler had pretty severe eczema- we've had many GP visits and have tried every lotion/potion available in the market but nothing really works.  Looking for any suggestions from local parents if they have had any experience with this and if anything has worked for them. Its really t...
