Re: Northcote House/Grove Hall/Bright Horizons/Linden Tree: looking for updated reviews

Hi, Our little one has been going to Linden Tree Webb’s road since February and he absolutely loves it and is super excited most days when we get there. The staff looking after the kids know them all by name - whether they work in their room or not - which feels very welcoming. They genuinely seem t...

Re: victorian tile company recommendation

We used the London Front Garden Company to redo our front garden, though I am sure they would also be happy to just do a part of it. For the Victorian mosaic tiles, there are usually 2 reasons they are restricted to the path only: 1/ Cost - they are quite expensive, in particular getting them laid a...

Re: Big Green Egg - are they worth it?

We were having the same debate last year. To help us decide we did a ceramic BBQ cooking class (highly recommend London barbecue school, though very tough to get a spot!) which really helped us see these barbecues in action and what is possible with them. We have since bought one and no regrets here...

Re: Front garden renovation

Hi there, We redid our front garden last year. For the size / surface it is quite expensive, so you might be surprised by the quotes you get. We got 3 quotes and ended up working with The London Front Garden Company and would highly recommend them. They weren’t the cheapest, but Chris the founder wa...

Re: St Georges Hospital - CQC Maternity report

Hi there, I had my first baby in St George’s in May 2023 and we were quite happy with the hospital. Pre natal care was good and we felt supported through the birthing experience. As one of the other posts mentions, wards are crowded, but they are in other maternities too. I think that unfortunately ...

Re: Pram & buggies - how to choose? Any recommendations?

Hi, Congratulations! It can be quite overwhelming! I think you need to try and figure out what / where you are going to use it most and what you value and that will help you narrow it down. For example we have the Fox 5 from Bugaboo as we valued a sturdy pram that we can take through the commons. It...

Re: Sunday Brunch

I would also recommend Milk on Hildreth street. Megan’s have a few places (Balham, Clapha Common, Clapham Old Town) and you can book which can be an advantage. The Apple Blue is also worth trying, but it is quite small and so wait times can be long. If you are happy to venture to Northcote road, caf...

Re: shutter recommendation

We recently used New England Shutter Company - their offices are right next to Wandsworth Common train station where you can see all the different options they have. We got shutters for the bottom half of our living room window and spent c£1,500 to give you an idea of cost. I think they are definite...
