Re: Looking for someone who can measure and make bespoke blinds

Would highly recommend these guys. They have a great range of patterns, quick delivery and fantastic after-sales service as well.  We met the women who were stitching our blinds and the owner is very responsive  https://curtainworkshop.co.uk/ Thank you very much for the recommendation, much appreci...

Re: Weekly big shop?

Don't forget the positive Waitrose effect on property prices... so best not to criticise it so much that it ends up closing down!

Re: The new £3.9m Food waste collections - a massive cost to the taxpayer, this is how to return your bins to the counci

I think they should have focussed on improving the existing recycling first ideally or alongside. Reason being, people don’t sort the recycling and bin everything in the orange bags and wrong items. What people don’t realise is that you are supposed to clean out the tins etc before recycling. ( I d...

Re: The new £3.9m Food waste collections - a massive cost to the taxpayer, this is how to return your bins to the counci

I really feel for you - it must be absolutely exhausting to be against everything.  I assume you know that food waste recycling occurs in cities all over the world - I can't be bothered to check the local details, but it normally goes into an anaerobic digester to generate clean energy - you know, ...

Re: Bandstand Beds

Yes! On Saturday mornings. Just go along and the stall will be up at the entrance to the garden (so long as the weather isn't too horrible). Organic fruit and vegetables. Proceeds go to Royal Trinity Hospice and Ace of Clubs homeless charity.

Re: Food waste collections for all in Wandsworth

I've been a keen recycler for years, but have been told (by several unrelated people) that our normal recycling just ends up in landfill and is not actually recycled. I hope this is not true. And I hope that the new food recycling is usefully dealt with too.

Re: Neighbour's dachshund barking aggressively many times a day

As per previous suggestions you should have a friendly chat with the neighbour. Stress to them that if "another neighbour" were to report the problem to the council then they would be in quite a lot of trouble, so perhaps suggest an anti-bark collar. We rehomed a dog and he's settled in w...

Re: dachshund barking aggressively many times a day

Thank goodness someone has brought up this maddening problem! The plea by one owner for understanding from neighbours is absurd. The disturbance inflicted on their  neighbours, both back and front through constant piercing barking, is not just a matter of convenience but a positive actionable nuisa...

Re: Neighbour's dachshund barking aggressively many times a day

When our lovely neighbours acquired two jack russells we had the same problem - in stereo! They stood at the front window and literally barked at every passer-by, all day long. Are the owners of your sausage dog out during the day? In which case (like our neighbours) they may be unaware of the prob...

Re: Neighbour's dachshund barking aggressively many times a day

@daisydaisy - seconded! I was reading that post wondering if it was about my two sausage dogs 😂 Definitely chat to your neighbour and see if there’s any training they can do to try and reduce it - we’ve done a lot of training with ours and, although they’re now better, on some days they’re fine and...

Re: Neighbour's dachshund barking aggressively many times a day

I am am embarrassed dachshund owner who completely sympathies with your post. Please be assured that your dachshund owning neighbour is more bothered by this than you. Re: Looking for someone who can measure and make bespoke blinds

Highly recommend Juilette from Home At Last shop in Earlsfield. I had some blinds up by Hillary’s and they broke after a year and refused to come by. She fixed them and they are better than ever. She also does brand new and can assist with fabric etc. https://www.instagram.com/home_at_last_london?i...
