Re: Au pair walking around virtually naked

Eek this really puts of off getting an au-pair! I've seen some of the outfits they were and it seems to be a common threat... but they are young. Glad speaking to her seemed to resolve it, I think honestly and approaching this stuff in a kind way (especially if it's the first instance) is usually th...

Re: Did you find out the sex of your baby?

Difficult because if your hubbie has a strong preference I'm not sure I would want to know... HOWEVER if he has a strong preference it might be better for him to find out now so that if it's a girl he has time to accept it before the baby comes. It's a difficult time post-birth so dealing with disap...

Re: resenting my step daughter

Difficult because your feelings are valid but you should squash them and put the 7 year olds feeling first (as we do for our own kids all of the time) x

Re: St Georges Hospital - CQC Maternity report

I had two babies at Georges and the delivery staff were amazing but the aftercare was AWFUL awful. One of the nurses literally ripped the cannula out of my hand because we disagreed about whether I needed it. When I went for a shower they took my baby out of the room without telling me so I came bac...

Re: Architect recommendation

I used hometales and I can't recommend them enough. The designer was wonderful - full of energy and great ideas. I used their builder too who was fantastic. www.hometales.co.uk

Good luck with your project x

Re: How much to carpet a house?

My stairs and a large bedroom cost about £1.2k (John Lewis). That as a pretty low range carpet but it's kept up really well x

Re: How much is too much arguing?

Having to adjust to a toddler creates much more reasons to argue. You should sit down and communicate expectations and frustrations and try to learn from the bickering. Communication is key. Also sometimes I argue with my husband a lot and other times not so much, the fluctuation is normal x

Re: How big an age gap is ok?

That age gap isn't huge but it's all relative to the age of the person. IE. the younger you are the bigger deal an age gap is. As they are so young I agree I think there might be different expectations, but if they were in their 30s it wouldn't be a big deal. Difficult to say but if you trust your d...

Re: Nursery vs pre-school

Does your nursery not allocate the funded hours? Mine deducts it from the monthly invoice (averaged out over the year). I personally think a nursery is a more one-to-one setting but it depends a lot on the two selections (nursery vs pre-school). Check the funded hours I don't know many nurseries who...

Re: St Georges Hospital - CQC Maternity report

I had 2x kids at George's in 2018 and 2021 and the labour care was good, in some cases outstanding. Most of the midwives I had were exceptional. The aftercare for both was awful. They actually took my baby out of my room without my knowledge at one stage and I almost died of shock when I turned arou...
