Re: Very fed up with foxes, need a bin store recommendation

Have you tried a locking bin? We had a whole family of foxes plus cubs living with us this year and although it was a joy to watch them they can trash the bins. Argos sell them quite cheaply and they lock so the foxes can’t open them.

Re: How can I stop a book?

I work in this world too and Spenner’s advice is spot on. Many many projects go into development and never make it beyond a first outline let alone onto screen. An ‘option’ is the first step on a very very long ladder to production. If you can find out how far this project is in terms of its develop...

Re: Piano teacher

Hi there, I’m a local mum and piano player. If your son is more interested in learning through the pop/ jazz route I might be able to help. Especially if he’s got the fundamentals already in place. Does he sing? Want to accompany himself playing/pop tunes? That can be done quite quickly if he’s alre...

Re: Does your son at Emanuel, Ibstock or Graveney play video games?

My son is at secondary school and apart from a once a week session on minecraft with friends he doesn’t have video games. He uses my phone to play the game. We’ve never bought a console/ PS4 etc. There are plenty of other kids who don’t have them so it hasn’t been a big deal. Partly, we just aren’t ...

Re: HELP- hair falling out in clumps!

There’s an article in today’s Telegraph about this re Covid. Answer seems to be vitamin supplements and steroid cream for patches of hair loss.

Re: Losing Sept School Deposit Rant

This happened to us a couple of years ago so you have my sympathies. The nursery/school in question threatened us with court action so I felt pressured into handing over the total of 3K. I think its worth saying that these private nurseries/schools make a big thing on their websites about how inunda...

Re: Private School deposits

Thanks guys for the advice. Really appreciate it. They clearly have a case if I left it till after the Easter term started but it stills feels a bit money grubbing. I know they are a business etc but still. Mmmmm

Re: Private School deposits

Dandelion53. I think that's the issue. The summer term had started. So bloody mean though! Theyve already got their £2,000 why ask for more.

Re: Private School deposits

Sorry Goldhawk you are right it wasn't January it was April. We heard about the state school place during Easter holidays and notified the private school just after the Easter holidays. So that's plenty of notice.

Private School deposits

Hi there I just wanted to raise this issue and wondered if anyone had had a similar experience. Last september we put our DD's name down for a place at a Wandsworth Private school. We were offered a place and paid the £2,000 standard deposit. In the January of the following year we were then offered...

Re: Not sure about St George's...

I had my son at George's and it was fine. I actually found the after care pretty good too. Although I think I'm in the minority. To be honest I think it's best to have no expectations and then everything is easier to deal with. Plans fly out the window! I know it's hard to do this, as it's so unknow...

Re: Open letter on possible Bolingbroke school

I have a son who is not yet school age so don't have any agenda regarding this issue but have read quite a lot about it on this forum. It seems a good idea to have a new school on the Bolingbroke site and all power to these parents that are trying to set up the school but shouldn't children from all...
