Nappy Valley in Westchester?

Postby catcher » Thu Jan 16, 2014 2:40 pm

Hi folks,

Family will soon be moving to Westchester NY - is anyone on NVN from there? Most pressing question - is there a NappyValleyNet equivalent there? What other ways of finding out what's happening for families and getting to know people would you recommend?

thanks!

I'm really sorry I can't help exactly but there is a great blog called http://nappyvalleygirl.blogspot.co.uk/ and this lady went from Nappy Valley to New York and then is back. She might now so may be worth asking her advice! Good luck with your move.

My sister lives in Chappaqua, Westchester and has 2 kids (8&7) and I'm planning on moving back out in the summer. Going in March to do all the research for schools and home, do let me know if you have any questions as I've been going there for years and now moving there myself. It's an amazing ace to bring up children, some of the best schools in the country, fantastic outdoors, skiing in less then 2 hrs by car, THE CITY in 30 min or less by train.

I lived in Rye for two years and moved here in Summer 2010. I'd be happy to answer questions. I know there is a huge British expat crowd in Rye and thereabouts and they all keep in touch, I'd have to ask around, I think it's a group email (I'm American so I wasn't in the loop).

Hello - funnily enough, we moved from SW London to Westchester (Larchmont) last summer and we're loving it (despite the arctic cold). I've found no direct equivalent to NappyValley / Mumsnet, although there is Circle of Moms (not convinced of its use...). Happy to give you more of a low-down on the area if you want to send me a message? There's loads to do for families round Larchmont at least, especially in the summer (although I can't believe I was ever warm as I sit here typing this right now!)...
