One night UK spa break recommendation, please.

Postby nycmommy » Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:26 am

My parents are coming for a visit and my husband and I thought we'd take advantage of overnight babysitting for a night away.

As it's only a night, we're looking fairly local (but outside London) and thought a nice hotel with a spa would be a great idea.

Any not-crazy-expensive, but nice suggestions?

Thank you.

OOh, looks gorgeous, sadly I think a little pricier than we were hoping.

Try speaking to Richard Frampton at Hurlingham travel richard@hurlinghamtravel.co.uk. I discovered him randomly a few years ago and he has been a great find so I am very happy to share his contact details. He always gets really good deals plus they are the Four Seasons preferred partner so Four Seasons in Hampshire might be nice for you. I have booked a few nights away through him plus a girls spa trip, all a real success. Have fun!

I know you've said not London, but the Corinthia is wonderful. The Stay Sunday, Spa Monday package is very good value as it includes a spa treatment each plus use of the spa facilities. I literally can't fault it

How about Nutfield Priory, part of Handpicked Hotels
http://www.handpickedhotels.co.uk/

There are a lot of very wonderful places you could go to (that cost a lot!), but if you fancy something a bit more reasonably priced, we really loved this one for a one night away.

I can recommend Alexander House Hotel and spa (from our pre-baby days...) -http://www.alexanderhotels.co.uk/alexan ... el-sussex/
There are a few spa/overnight-stay special offers on at the moment, and the hotel is located only an hour from London.

Enjoy!

These are all fantastic. Thank you so much. I'm beginning to think I have unrealistic expectations on price.

Will talk to husband and I think we're going to need to up the budget a bit.

Really appreciate everyone's time and opinions.

Donnington Valley in Newbury is really nice and often has a night for £99/room. Such nice pool area I haven't even needed treatments. Lovely town too if you want to go out for dinner. Enjoy x

The Bingham in Richmond has an amazing Sunday night deal, with Sunday lunch (served to 4pm!), cocktails or movie tickets, plus breakfast the next morning. I don't think they have a spa but maybe a leisurely walk by the river? I haven't stayed there but have been there for a wedding, which was lovely and the food was great. We are doing the Sunday package in a few weeks. www.thebingham.co.uk
