Loft conversion for semi detached Post Reply

Hi, has anyone recently done a loft conversion of a semi detached house in a conservation area? It doesn't seem as straight forward a process as it is for a terraced house as they are quite strict on what you can do. We are would really appreciate some advice / guidance from others who have just gone through the process.
