Got kids who love performing?

Postby lol89lol » Mon Feb 24, 2014 5:56 pm

The Devas Youth Theatre is a relaxed club for children aged 7-12 who love to act, sing or dance! No experience is necessary whatsoever and the focus is very much on having fun rather than being a 'stage school'.

We meet on Mondays from 4.00pm - 5.30pm and on Wednesdays from 5.00pm - 6.30pm. The Monday club focuses on Musical Theatre (we are currently rehearsing 'Annie') and the Wednesday club focuses on Drama (we are currently rehearsing 'The Wind in the Willows').

All members also have the chance to see a top West End show for free thanks to our generous sponsorship by Winkworth Estate Agents.

Both clubs take place at The Devas Club, SW11 5EN and are led by experienced professionals from the arts and/or education sectors who are fully CRB/DBS checked and insured.

The sessions cost £1.00 on a pay as you basis and the first session is free as a taster.

For more information please contact Lauren on lauren@bigfoot-theatre.co.uk or see the website:

My daughter goes to the musical theatre session on Mondays and loves it. It would be great if more children went - it is such good value and all the staff are so friendly. The Devas club is such a great resource but I worry that they will lose funding if people don't use it more. PM me if you want more details.

Hi,
It sounds too good to be true, everything is so expensive now in Clapham for kids... I will definitely give it a try for my daughter who should love it for sure !

The reason that it's too good to be true is that it is non-profit making (unlike most of the drama groups). The Devas Club gets funding and I think the theatre groups are part funded by an Arts Council grant. But if people don't use it I guess they'll lose their funding. So come on everyone - use this fantastic local resource. The lady who organises the groups (Lauren) is very friendly and approachable.
