Central Heating Engineers - recommendations?

Postby emben12 » Tue Oct 26, 2010 8:42 am

Hi,

This is probably the most boring question ever posted, but I'm looking for someone who can come and have a look at our boiler, central heating/radiators. We need a couple of radiators fixed and possibly a new boiler or thermostat. Does anyone know of a reputable company that could do this please?
Thanks.

A don't rather than a do I'm afraid. We had the unfortunate experience of using Gas 24 this year and would suggest that no one goes near them. We had to use them because our boiler insurance company sent them but they insisted our system needed a power flush, at £700 + VAT which, of course, they could do.
Luckily, for the first time ever, I questioned it, went on the internet and realised they were totally wrong. Even when they found the actual fault it took 3 visits to get hot water and heating again as the engineer kept on flicking switches he shouldn't have done and forgetting to put parts back in. I think the guy was inept rather than trying to scam us out of money, but I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

I can highly recommend Martin at South London Gas who kept an "old but good" boiler of mine going for 12years after I had been told that it needed replacing by a dodgy guy who said he could do the work much cheaper privately than if I did it through the company he worked for!
When I moved out it was still going strong.
A couple of winters ago when I had trouble with my current boiler he made me a priority as he new I had a baby.
His no. is 07860276763
