Between the Commons...American Mum new to the UK Post Reply

My family has just moved to the UK from Washington DC, and we are living in Clapham Common. I have a 4 year old girl, and a 4 month old boy, and would love to meet some other mums with children of similar ages. My daughter in particular is looking forward to having kids her age to meet up with and play together at the park. Are there any Mums out there who would like to start off by meeting at the park?

Hi,

I have moved here from the US (New York, although my husband is originally from virginia, I'm Australian) with my company 5 months ago. We have a 15 month boy and I am expecting number 2 in 2 1/2 weeks.

Not sure if that is suitable but we are definately interested in meeting new people and Jackson meeting new kids also. Its not easy trying to figure things out in a new country at times!!

Ladies, my family and I moved Between the Commons from the US because of husband's job two months ago. We are still getting to know the neighborhood and would love to meet up. I have two boys ( almost three and almost one) looking to make new friends. Maybe we can meet up at the playground or set up a playgroup for the kids? Please write back if interested. Another American mum in Balham, my little one just turned one and he is all about walking these days! I am happy to host a meet up for tea or happy to meet in the park. Can anyone suggest a date and we'll try for the Bandstand Cafe in Clapham? There is a great play area near by and it just makes for a lovely afternoon out.

Ladies,
I'd love to meet up but as I am post c-section the furthest I can get to is Wandsworth Common. There is a cafe there (Common Ground Cafe) and a playground right outside, plus there is indoor space for little ones to run around. Maybe next time we can meet there?
