I agree with this. My children started at a school which I had reservations about. However they are now flourishing .
Good luck to you all.

The furthest non-sibling distances offered this year were:
Belleville 238m ( last year 274m on offer day increasing to 306m by the start of term)
Honeywell 182m ( last year 132m and no increase)
Hope that helps.

Thank you, that really helps! I can't believe how small the catchment is this year...

Wow. That is tiny. Luckily we had a plan B, but I fear lots of parents didn't. What with all those kids living only two streets away now, surely we wont see half as many car drop off and collections when the Sept term starts ........

It's more siblings that has reduced the furthest distance, not an increase in kids living within 2 streets. And siblings come from further afield than non- siblings obviously, therefore I doubt there will a change to car drop-offs.

Gees, this is unbelievable. From what I understand, the distances over the last three years have reduced like this:

Belleville - 402m, 274m, 238m.

Honeywell - 366m, 232m, 182m.

When will it end?! We have just bought a house 174m from Belleville. My son will be starting school in 2017 and I am beginning to wonder if we will be sufficiently close that year :(

Sorry to hear about those who didn't get places - hope it all works out OK for you.

You can't compare the year before last as it was calculated via walking route as opposed to straight line as the crow flies.

182 metres

I would love to know where all the siblings offered places live.

The demographic within catchment is very telling too. All houses full of families, there are so many primary age kids living between the Commons now in comparison to when we arrived in 2000.
Interestingly I have friends whose older kids got into BV from Clapham Common Northside as that was once 'in' catchment. No wonder the house prices BTC keep on going up and up..

My son has been offered a place in Honeywell and the council told us we are 183 metres away. He has no siblings in the school. Strange that the council have told Northcote dad the furthest place offered was 182m. Ok it's only a metre difference but it does make me question whether the council know what they are talking about regarding distance!

Good luck to you all... it's very stressful for parents.
Bad news for us too. we live 222metres from Honeywell and my son is 38 on the waiting list. he got a place at Alderbrook, which is ok but we are a bit disappointed...

222 meters from Honeywell and you are 38 on the waiting list?! WOW. That is really shocking, although in some ways I'm not surprised.

I really feel for everyone going through this, it's so tough. We were lucky and got into Honeywell last year, but we are very, very close.

Re movement on waiting lists-I know someone who was number 6 (I think) and didn't get into Honeywell and is still waiting 2 terms on... But it can change. Make sure the council know you want to stay on the waiting list!

I live BTC, closest school is Honeywell (250 metres), I reckon I'll have to rent on Honeywell road when my little one is due to start school in order to compete with all these siblings being driven in from Earlsfield and beyond..!

You would be surprised but most of the children live very very locally. I have 2 daughters at Belleville and when you check the class list which includes addresses most children live within 5 mn walk. That might have been different before though...
