What an interesting post! I haven't thought too much re uniform, other than that it's cute, but you make some good points! My children will go to a school where uniform is optional and past the first few years most girls opt to wear leggings. If you're worried about your daughter being teased in trousers you could consider shorts and tights together (if the school allows that). That seems to be the fashion for little girls at the moment (at least in our area) so I would have thought other girls would be envious rather than tease.

State school wise your daughter should be fine just wearing a pair of grey trousers as the boys do (I know girls who do this, though not in the majority - not that I think that makes any difference at this stage!). Private schools may be a different matter...

State schools have no problem with girls wearing trousers. My daughter wears a grey pair as do many of her friends. She does rather like the option of a dress too though

Same here, a lot of girls in our school wear grey leggings. They all respect the school colour scheme and the school doesn't seem to have an issue with it.
