What about Dal Romano (Italian) on Nightingale Lane - on the old Bombay Bicycle Club site. We go there all the time and love the food!

Another vote for Ciullo's amazing food!

Nightingale cafe on Balham high road is also great for brunch/lunch. Lovely cakes and good kids menu.

Soif & Abbeville kitchen both get my vote. The new restaurant on battersea rise,Cornish Tiger, does a very good Sunday roast.

I can recommend 40 Sheen Lane, wine bar and grill in East Sheen (2 min walk from Mortlake station)... Can recommend the burgers and steaks! They also have events in their downstairs bar.. You can find out more on:

Can't believe I am going to give up this secret.... But for the best Italian Deli around try Giovanni's (Mediterannio) at the corner of Gassiot Road and Franciscian Road SW17. The most amazing sandwiches, pasta, lasagne, lamb Italian groceries, olive oil, Coffee, etc. Menu changes daily. Open M-Sat from 8am until about 6.

Gio and Aldo are fab and the place is filled with regulars all the time

Skylark - Wandsworth Common

Postby issyscott » Sun May 11, 2014 9:48 am

Without a doubt, the new Skylark Cafe has to be on the top ten places to eat in Wandsworth' list! It's the cafe in the middle of Wandsworth Common that's been taken over by new owners. It's next to the bowling greens and used to be called 'Common Ground'. It's where 'Amanda's Action Club' holds classes.

'Skylark' is amazing on so many levels; Firstly the food is delicious. They've put in so much obvious work to source the best ingredients. For example, their lamb meatballs are made with Salt Marsh lamb (arguably the best lamb!) and their sausages have been sourced from a little farm in Dorset. Delicious!

And the menu is so creative, so different (in a GOOD way!) and nearly everything either has a gluten free option or is Gluten free. They have paid excellent attention to the kids menu. Everything is made from scratch and it's so refreshing to have nutritious food to choose from. They even have organic baby purées to buy (homemade!) or scrambled eggs for the really tiny ones, or for the 'bigger' ones, my two year old daughter had a pizza yesterday; whole meal homemade base, homemade mixed vegetable 'red' sauce, cheese and ham, so without knowing it she was getting loads of veg in her!

The staff are so lovely and attentive. Really helpful when you're struggling with two kids and all the paraphernalia that comes with them! It's a world away from the cafe it used to be and my husband and I are seriously impressed. Best of all it's great value for money. For eg, we had lunch there yesterday (two adults, two children, drinks, coffee etc), and only paid £35!!! Where on earth can you eat OUT in this area for that amount (and eat WELL and be stuffed?!) Fabulous coffee too!

Well done Skylark, see you again very soon!

also echo Ciulos in Balham

And can I add Addome on Sternhold Avenue. Fantastic Italian.

Milk on Hildreth Street is a great café for breakfast/lunch but not open evenings.

We went to the Cornish Tiger on Battersea Rise last night with friends. Amazing food, relaxed atmosphere. We were the last to leave and got chatting to the owner who worked front of house. His two chefs are partners in the restaurant and you could tell because there was a lot of love in the food. Corny I know, but we were all impressed.
