4 yr old party suggestions?

Postby Allsmiles » Wed May 28, 2014 10:59 pm

Hi,

With dd's 4th birthday looming, she's requested for a party with all her friends. What does 4 yr olds want at their birthday parties? Any suggestions? Am totally lost as to what she would like.

Thanks

what about a party at Bertie & Boo, Balham High Rd? did my daughter's 4th and 5 th parties there, it is so easy as they do all the food and entertainment. you just turn up with a cake! they do games, soft play, a magic show and have entertainers in character.

or

gambado's, chelsea for a good run around.
playball parties also work really well but you need to find a venue.
sammy duder on webbs road for a smaller group, i think can do small discos.

4 year old Kids love facepainting. I can do this or if you are going to go to gambado, eddy catz or such, I can film and edit the party onto DVD. You can also film and then I will just do the editing. Editing can be mixed with the child favorite TV character, music , effect and transition. We can mix video and picture together and add captions. Check my website for more infos.

I second Bertie & Boo as an option. My daughter had her 4th birthday party there and then we did a shared class party for her & her class friends' 5th birthdays. They are excellent. Cheaper if you can share with a friend but well worth it.

There is always the option of a party at home or in the park. 4 year olds are just as happy playing pass the parcel and musical statues.

I bought a Sports Day kit for £15 from Amazon and had a party on the common with lots of games and a picnic. It really depends on what your budget is and whether you want to organise the games yourself.

I agree with Bertie and Boo.. Did my dd daughter when she was 4 there and been there for others. Also been to a house party where Boo came out and kept children entertained. Park parties are good if the weather is good. Cannizaro house in Wimbledon is great and never seems too busy. Lots of garden space and you just show up with your picnic and toys. Been there a few times for children parties in the summer. Lastly it's a kids thing in Earlsfield has been really good when I have gone there for parties. Hope that helps.

We've done Bertie and Boo too and I agree it's very good and hassle free. For my daughter's 4th birthday we did a Pizza Express pizza making party and it was really good. All the kids loved it. The Balham one is a bit awkward about the times they will do kids parties but the Abbéville Rd branch were much more flexible. The guy who ran it was brilliant, and it's also pretty hassle free. I just had to bring the cake and party bags.

The local leisure centres do parties, from bouncy castles to sports parties. My kids have enjoyed a few of these and they are a bit easier on the wallet than some entertainers.

Smartie Artie was quite good too....

If your daughter likes ballet and fairies I highly recommend a Bellarina birthday party. Miss. Jodie is an excellent party entertainer and very reasonable. She came to our house and we held most of the party in the garden. I will try to forward her details

Hi, This is admittedly a bit of self promotion, but for her daughter's birthday a friend of mine brought the entire gang to the Little Folk with Albo Concert at the Colour House Theatre. After the concert, during which she was serenaded with Happy Birthday, the theatre staff cleared the hall, turned on the music and the disco lights and they had a really fun, reasonably affordable party. The last concert of the season is on Sat. June 14 at 10:30am. The tickets for the concert are £4 per person and the after concert party was pretty cheap (I think it was an additional £50, but don't quote me on that). You can check out the Little Folk website if you like:

Best of luck,

Al

May I ask which Bertie & Boo you would recommend for birthday party ? My daughter will be 3 soon, we are living close to Northcote, but seems most of people go to Bertie & Boo in Balham for party.

If you're prepared to have all the kids over then it's always fun to host your classic party games (pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey, musical statues etc.) with some music for them to dance to?
