Hi -

I am looking for a photographer to capture photos of my family (mainly the kids) around key London sites. Does anyone of any recommendations? The kids are 3 and almost 2 so the photographer would need to be patient.

I'm a family photographer and a mum myself (of a three year old), and very experienced with photographing young children. I photographed a two year olds' birthday party on the London Eye which was great fun, and we got some fantastic shots.

Shannon Lee is a wonderful photograph who has a very gentle approach and a great eye for the right "moment" from your children.

She is also our after-school nanny but trained as a photographer (university degree) and is developing her photo business.

She did some wonderful photos of our daughter, edited them and then gave them to us as a Christmas present. A real treat. Her website is here (we asked her not to post our daughter's photos so you won't see them there).

I would recommend www.gilespatterson.com

His shoots are very relaxed and at £150 are unbelievably good value. He did a one hour shoot at our home and after edits he sent us about 50 full resolution colour and black and white shots.

He does weddings too and also runsa a fantastic photobooth business - we used this for our summer party recently; www.thememory-booth.com

We had a similar shoot to what you're describing done about two years ago. Kate Griffin at www.kategriffinphotography.com is just outstanding. She doesn't just take beautiful photos, she somehow manages to tell a story through them, and each time we've used her, I've felt she did a wonderful job of capturing us - just how we are - and our sons personality has really shone through. Can't recommend highly enough.
