New to the area, which club please

Postby KatAsh » Tue Aug 12, 2014 6:12 pm

Hello, I'm new to the area and going to be moving to Teddington mid September. I wondered whether you have any advise please on whether the Lensbury is worth the joining fee? I'm looking for a club that is family friendly, has a decent sized swimming pool more than 30m, a tennis club amongst other sports, is sociable and family friendly but equally could be somewhere for a switch off with a cup of coffee on that rare occasion :) ?!? I thought the fee was a bit steep but equally with your feedback would help my decision! Thank you

Hi there, we have spent the last year debating and have friends who are members so went in as guests a few times. This weekend we finally joined and had a great weekend the children's area is fantastic with seperate areas for over tens and great sets of lessons. The joining fee made me bulk but we got money for birthdays towards it. When we had a look round we asked if we could stay afterwards to spend time on our own. I think they are also planning on re doing the pool etc. it really is great and am so glad we finally joined.

We looked at the Lensbury but opted for David Lloyd in Hampton. It's about the same price but also has an outdoor pool which we've practically lived in this summer. Spa is good too as well as children's activities

Thanks both of you for your posts, def food for thought. It will be quite handy location wise but also heard the outdoor pool in Hampton is fantastic! My daughter is 2 yo so not ready for all activities but good to know for when she's older that it would be worth joining now
