Selling baby stuff in Clapham/Wandsworth

Postby Playmobil Pirate » Tue Aug 26, 2014 9:40 pm

Hi

Grateful for advice from local parents on selling baby stuff. We have just relocated back to Clapham from overseas. We have lots of redundant baby stuff (3 prams/buggies and a cot for a start) and need to get rid of it as it has overwhelmed our toy room. Is there a local NCT baby sale, or a Facebook group for selling spare kids stuff? The nearly new section on www.nappyvalleynet.com looks a bit quiet and doesn't offer you the chance to post pictures. Any ideas?

Thanks

Definitely try a Facebook group. there are a few SW_ mums groups of SW_buying selling groups. good way to get rid of stuff. So check your postal code and near postal codes.

I haven't been to an NCT nearly sale so you might get some feedback on what they are good for selling wise... if you have a lot of stuff might be worth doing that and selling remainder on a FB site.

Though the sites and I have heard that NCT sale are better for selling certain things.... clothes are always difficult.

Welcome back!

SW18 Buying/Selling/Giving is a brilliant Facebook page although if you price too high people won't buy, I generally find.
There is also an SW11 similar page but doesn't get the same penetration as the SW18 equivalent.
Annabels arcade unfortunately doesn't have a great track record for me personally (though I love the main site!)

As well as the NCT Nearly new sales, this is also good:

I think it's held at Ricard's Lodge School in SW19. Hope that helps.

I've done the mum2mum market which is great way to get rid of stuff. However, I found the prices v low so if you just want to shift the stuff it's perfect, if you want to raise a heap of money it's less good. That said friends of mine sold a backpack and some expensive stuff for a good price so it is possible.
