Newpark Nursery - Any Good? Post Reply

I went to visit Newpark Nursery today and am considering sending my two year old there. But, as the nursery just opened (only open since April) it was hard to get an idea of what it would be like when it eventually reaches capacity. Does anyone send their little ones to Newpark? Or has anyone sent their little ones to a new nursery? Would love to hear about any experiences - good or bad.

Also, wondering whether a three month notice period is standard for nurseries? Seems quite long for a nursery that hasn't yet been inspected by ofstead and that is run by a heavily pregnant, and seemingly very competent, manager who is soon to start mat leave?

Hi, I considering putting my daughter there as well, what do you think of it? is youre there? I agree on the 3 months notice it just seems to be too long.

Hi Claudia,

My daughter has been at Newpark for a couple weeks now - and I am incredibly happy and impressed with the staff. Having had a bad nursery experience when she was little I was very anxious about sending her to another nursery, but she's 2.5 now and needed a bit more structure than she was getting with a childminder. Yes, 3 months is a very long notice period, but I wouldn't let this stop you from sending your little one here.

The staff are well educated and highly qualified and their interaction with the kids (even babies) is really fantastic. My daughter is very very happy at newpark and loves the montessori classroom.
