Sorry the presumptive check for the above was haywire

So it seems that as is only right and to guide those with the poor moral compass outlined before, Wandsworth Council has started to give explicit guidelines on renting to gain admissions at Honeywell and Belleville. As I mentioned previously it is sad the obvious guidelines need to be put in place at this late date, and people have needed to suffer. Without such guidelines it seems some people are clueless as to how they should behave.

Does anyone do the commute on foot to Alderbrook from Bromwood road area? What is that like and how long does that take?

Yes! we live on Kyrle road and my nanny leaves at 8.35am every morning so that she can be there at 8.55am for reception.
if you have a child in nursery, they start at 8.30am and in other classes, they start at 8.50am i think.

Just found this helpful thread, with some recent views on Alderbrook:
http://www.nappyvalleynet.com/mums/view ... 54&t=55924

Would be great if existing or prospective parents could share their thoughts on this school. We're torn between going somewhere 'on the up' like Alderbrook primary seems to be, or digging deep to go private :?

I think there are other earlier posts where current parents speak about their experience at Alderbrook. I probably started as one of those bitter parents but am now (with a hold on year 2 and reception) very happy Ns chilled as my kids are thriving and I do not believe they would be doing better anywhere else. I am happy to meet for a coffee to help you with any specific concerns if that would help (Fridays or weekends work best for me).

thanks frazzledworkingmum, that's great to hear, especially as it wasn't your 1st choice. Have now picked my way through the full thread to find all the comments actually about alderbrook (rather than hw/bv issues) and it's all pretty positive.... may still take you up on coffee though, in which case I'll PM you! :D

If you also have younger children check that you're not more than 800m away from the school so you don't get caught by the proposed new sibling policy if it's supported in the current consultation.

... or reply to the consultation stating how ludicrous the 800m proposal is!

Thanks doubledaddy and jg75 - it wouldnt affect us as we're inside 800m but you make a good point. Have just posted my views on the big thread about this:
http://www.nappyvalleynet.com/mums/view ... &start=165 and will fill out the consultation form too :)

(didn't want this thread to go off the main topic again. Lots of us still interested to hear any fresh views on alderbrook from parents of reception-age kids as they settle into the new term)

I posted before some time ago. I have two kids at Alderbrook - one in Nursery and one in Year 1
I too started off as a disgruntled parent as we live very close to Honeywell and Belleville and should by rights have got a space..:
But as it turned out I am very happy with the school and my kids are thriving and I have been so impressed with the quality of the the teaching. I have met some truly lovely parents at the school and overall it has been a very positive experience for me and my children

we live just off Broomwood Road and it is a bit of a distance but nothing too bad - to be honest my main problem is getting the kids dressed and fed and out of the house rather than the distance itself! :) I drive quite a lot but it's a nice walk too
