Banksy on Northcote Road?

Postby pinkhorse » Thu Oct 09, 2014 9:13 pm

Just noticed what looks like a Banksy artwork on the wall of Fara on Northcote Road. Is it by Banksy? Does anyone have any information?

I saw that too yesterday - MPSWandsworth tweeted a picture of it earlier. I like it :-). Wonder if it's genuine?

Evidently it's not a Banksy (there's a surprise) but a fantastic piece of artwork by the Fara shop/someone connected with the Fara shop itself. Doesn't stop me thinking it's pretty awesome. Just love it!

what makes you think that it is 'evidently' not a Bansky? He would not draw things next to shops? I don't know much about Bansky but it looks just like his other drawings.

Why must people be so confrontational on this site?

For the sake of clarity, I simply meant that a source close to the piece of artwork is aware of who painted it; hence the word "evidently".

I'm not a Banksy specialist but of course he could choose to use any building as his canvas....

Apologies to spoil everyone's excitement - & my own - I popped into Farah on Northcote Road last Friday - & the store Manageress confirmed it is NOT a Banksy and was painted by one of the 'Farah' area managers :(Image

Saw the "Banksy" last week but have you seen the other one - not quite Nappy Valley but in Cabul Road at corner with Wayford Street is this interesting specimen. A dove of peace with wing covering/shrouding an AK47, a hand grenade, a handgun and a knife. A comment on the times we live in!

Sorry, but there was meant to be a picture in that last post. Anyone know how to reduce a photo from 5.2 to less than 2 MB?! Otherwise I am afraid you will just have to go and take a look for yourself - on the side wall of 33 Cabul Road.

Hi Tony I have also taken a picture of the dove on our way to Eduardo's school and here it is. It is easy to resize a picture with either photoshop, paint or irfanview on your computer ( amongst lot of others) if you take a picture with your smartphone you can also resize it directly on your mobile with android. Remind me to show you how when I see you.

I've seen the pigeon artwork too..but I can see it says Loretto in the corner.... So don't think this is a Banksy!
