Ikea's kitchen

Postby Cambell2 » Mon Oct 27, 2014 10:15 pm

Hi all,
We are getting a new kitchen and we don't know which one to choose
I like Ikea's design as they know how best to use the space. However I am not very sure about the quality. I will appreciate any comments or suggestion about ikea kitchen. Also about Homebase or Wickes kitchen.

Also I was thinking in buying a freestanding cooker, instead of a Hob and an integrated oven.
However I was told than a freestanding cooker was not a good idea, specially if you are planning in selling your house soon as it will devaluate the house selling price.
I would appreciate any comments or advice.
Many Thanks
Cambel

Hi there Campbell2, what about trying an independent supplier? IKEA is a fabulous place (we love it) but there are lots of indies who can supply a really good quality kitchen at terrific prices too.

We supply very high quality kitchens (better than you would find at some very well known name) at great prices. This is because we have relationships with the manufacturers and get them direct. In fact, our motto is 'dream kitchens at affordable prices'.

We're small but passionate! Our designers come to you to talk about your needs and create a bespoke plan, so will be able to advise on specific concerns you may have.

We'd love to help you. Pm me if your interested and we'll happily give you a call.

How do your prices compare in absolute terms to IKEA?

What about compared to Magnet or Howdens?

Morning Scottov!

We are a lovely little indie and respectful of our competitors, so we are not here to do anyone down, just to say how proud we are of our own offer :D

There is a place for everyone, and we advise our clients to always have a good look around to get an idea of styles, quality and price points.

We have lots of different styles and combinations to choose from, but what I can say is that we are very, very confident ;) of how we perform on price and quality against the big names generally, some of whom may have been mentioned in this thread.

Have a great day and let us know if you'd like further info!

Thankyou so much for all the replies .
P.K, Please could you let me know how much would be 8 cabinets of of the classic kitchen in a light color, so I could have an idea to compare.
We are working in an very tight budget. We bought our flat last year and we need to refurnish it as it is imposible to live here otherwise.
The work in the flat is going to be more than £60 k, so that is why we need to count the pennies.
Thanks

that's what I thought, you are trying to upsell the OP to a higher spec and/or spend.

I'm sure they are very well aware that there are higher price points than IKEA, but they asked about a very specific option ;)

We have an Ikea kitchen and love it. I'm personally a big fan of all Ikea products and find them to wear well. We also looked at Howdens and Wickes - price wise i think it's difficult to beat Ikea.We chose Ikea based on the style and the functionality, there really are tons of options to allow you to customise your kitchen to fit the space, people are always surprised when we tell them where the kitchen is from because it looks custom made. We have integrated double ovens and personally i think it makes the kitchen look higher spec, but this is my personal opinion.

Hello,

Im a kitchen designer and have been for years. A kitchen fitter once told me that Ikea is amazing and similar quality to a lot of the other names you have mentioned, just depends who puts it together, as the others are assembled in the factory. The cost of Ikea furniture may be less, but you have to pay someone to put it together well!

I now work with a company called www.silomaone.it as it is very similar to Ikea, marginally more because it comes assembled. I recently did a price comparison with Howdens and the cost was the same.

Let me know if you would like a free consultation

We would probably come in a little more than IKEA depending on the options you take. With most of the other big names we are very competitive. Check out our Facebook or @puccinikitchens on Twitter as we often share pictures of our kitchens. We are about to start sharing testimonials too, so you don't have to take our word for anything!

Oh, and without wanting to break NVN rules, can we just say that we have a new special offer coming very soon. Keep your eyes peeled!

Thats the best piece of advice in my opinion.
